UK KFA Letter to President Donald Trump

UK KOREAN FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION

To Donald J Trump
President , United States of America ,
Washington , DC
USA

Dear Mr President Trump,
It has been one year since the historic DPRK-US summit was held in Singapore between yourself and the supreme leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea , Marshal Kim Jong Un .
The summit was the first of its kind in history which gave the hope of achieving peace on the Korean peninsula and throughout the whole world .
However, we are disappointed that the joint statement adopted at the summit has not been implemented .In particular the US is still maintaining its hostile policy towards the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK rather than building a new relationship based on mutual trust and respect .
We urge you to ensure the implementation of the US side of the June 12th DPRK-US joint statement . We believe that the US should work towards the creation of a new peace-keeping mechanism on the Korean peninsula to replace the old outworn Korean Armistice Agreement .Moreover the US should withdraw any nuclear strategic assets from in and around the Korean Peninsula . We also urge that the sanctions on the DPRK, which are a manifestation of US hostility towards the DPRK, should be lifted.
We hope that you will do all your power to implement the US side of the June 12th 2018, DPRK-US statement .

Yours sincerely
Dr Dermot Hudson
