STATEMENT ON THE TERROR ATTACK ON THE DPRK EMBASSY
The Staffordshire Branch of the UK Korean Friendship Association utter condemns the terrorist attack carried out against the Embassy of The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea in Madrid, Spain on February 22nd, 2019. This assault by the Terror Group concerned not only broke criminal and civil laws but also the International Diplomatic Conventions and regulations. On February 22nd, the assailants of this terror cell broke into the grounds of the DPRK Embassy in Madrid, they committed acts of vandalism, theft and even physicals assault against the diplomatic staff present.
This attack was carried out by the so-called "Cheollima Defence Group" on the Madrid DPRK Embassy was no different in nature from those perpetrated by Islamic Fundamentalists and The Far Right. By the tone of their actions, this group is able and willing in the future to conduct more violent actions. There are those organisations, including "Liberty In North Korea", who are sympathetic to the cause espoused by this gang. The individuals and groups that are supportive of these thugs are just as guilty as the assailants, giving promotion to extremism. The party, government and people of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea cannot never be cowed by acts of terrorism and intimation by any individual or grouping.
Our branch calls on people of goodwill everywhere to denounce this act of terror. We urge the progressive forces to unite in solidarity with the people of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea and work for peace and reunification in Korea!!
