Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Provides Field Guidance to Fishery Stations in Eastern Coastal Area
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA), gave field guidance to the fishery stations in the eastern coastal area which are busy with winter intensive fishing campaign.
The first leg of his guidance was the May 27 Fishery Station run by the KPA.
Saying that he came to meet fishermen to encourage them with a great pleasure after receiving a report that they caught more than 60 000 tons of fish in a short span of time in the course of receiving every day a report on the fish catching of the fishery stations run by the People's Army in the eastern coastal area in a winter intensive fishing campaign, Supreme Leader of the Party, state and army Kim Jong Un personally got aboard the fishing vessel "Hwanggumhae-014" and congratulated its captain and fishermen who returned with a big fish haul.
He noted that he is much pleased to see the unloading of fresh fish from the vessel and the fish which is poured out at an outdoor ground. Saying that let's have a photo taken against the background of this wonderful scenery, he summoned the fishermen and employees and had a significant photo session.
Making rounds of a room dedicated to education in the revolutionary history, a freezing warehouse and a combined control room of the May 27 Fishery Station, he acquainted himself with the ideological education of the employees and production and management of the station.
Seeing the fish blocks filled at the freezing warehouse, he expressed great pleasure, saying they look like a treasure mountain and gold bars and the warehouse is almost filled with fish in a few days of the intensive fishing campaign. He said that if the fish is caught as now, the warehouse will not be enough to store the caught fish and underscored the need to increase a quick freezing capability 2-3 times on an annual basis.
He enjoyed an art performance given by the employees of the fishery station.
He expressed expectations and belief that officials and employees of the fishery station will increase the successful fish catch to substantially contribute to the diet of the people and servicepersons and will take the lead in implementing the Party policy of bringing about a revolutionary change in fishery.
The next leg of his guidance was the August 25 Fishery Station run by KPA.
He gave congratulations and highly appreciated the fishery station for taking the lead in making a big fish haul as befits the native place of the history of "gold seas" and of "Tanphung" fishing vessels.
He acquainted himself with performance and technical state of "Tanphung" fishing vessels of the fishery station and learned in detail how the Party policy is implemented, looking round various places of the station including the processing shop, freezing warehouse and combined production control room.
He was told that a 3 000 ton capacity freezing warehouse was built by remolding a 1 500 ton capacity salting tank in a short period and a task of systematically increasing a daily quick freezing capacity was carried out, and highly appreciated it.
He expressed great satisfaction at the freezing warehouses filled with thousands of tons of fish each.
He expressed expectations and belief that the officials and employees of the August 25 Fishery Station would give a steady continuity to the history of big fish hauls in the future, too, as befit the pioneer and model which kindled a new torch in fishing, before having a picture taken with them.
The next leg of his guidance was the January 8 Fishery Station run by the KPA.
He boarded the vessel "Tanphung 18-01" in the middle of discharging, being welcomed by enthusiastic fishermen.
He highly praised the fishery station for over-fulfilling the yearly quota of fish haul by ensuring that more than 1 000 tons of fish such as anchovy, gray mullet, mackerel, gizzard shad and hard-finned sandfish are caught by each vessel.
He stressed the need to prevent fish from getting contaminated or degraded in the process of handling them and establish strict order for meeting the hygienic demand not only in the hold but also in all the processes of handling fish like discharge, grading, freezing, storing and supply.
Notably, as the January 8 Fishery Station provides fish to baby homes, orphanages, primary and middle schools for orphans and old people's homes across the country, the level of scientific fish catch and automatic and updated carriage and processing should be higher than other fishery stations in terms of quality and only fresh fish should be supplied to the children and health seekers through intensified quality control, he said.
Looking round the 1 000 ton freezing warehouse, he stressed the need to standardize the size of freezing drawer, saying that the weights of frozen fish blocks of the fishery stations are different from one another.
The Supreme Leader said that the January 8 Fishery Station run by the KPA is the fishery station under the Supreme Command to which he attaches greatest importance, expressing the expectations and belief that the officials and fishermen of the station will take the lead in working a new miracle and innovation.
He said that he felt refreshed, pleasant and very satisfied looking at the mountains of fish while touring the fishery stations in the eastern coastal area for the two consecutive days, adding that he used to feel like making time to sail out to the sea and fish with the fishermen whenever he heard the report of fishing results every day and every month.
He said that the food problem of the people and the service personnel can be solved satisfactorily when the agricultural production, animal husbandry and fishing are developed as the three main thrusts, noting that the People's Army should continue to stay in the van of upholding and implementing the Party's fishery policy as the pioneers who created the history of "gold seas".
He was accompanied by Hwang Pyong So, first vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea; Jo Yong Won, vice department director of the C.C., WPK; Kim Chang Son and Ma Won Chun, officials of the State Affairs Commission; and Army General So Hong Chan, first vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces. -0-
