SPEECHES ON THE ANNIVERSARIES OF THE
WORKERS PARTY OF KOREA AND DOWN WITH IMPERIALISM UNION 13.10.2018
Earlier we heard about the
achievements of People’s Korea from those people who visited there in September
. Now I will talk about the force behind these achievements, the Workers’ Party
of Korea , or ChosonNodongDang to give it’s correct title in Korea . On Wednesday
10th of October the Workers’ Party of Korea- WPK for short
–celebrated the 73rd anniversary of its foundation.
The WPK has been leading the Korean
people for over seven decades now . The
WPK is a genuine mass party. It has members in all sections of society from waitresses and drivers to senior
officials and generals .The symbol of the WPK is a sickle , a hammer and a
Korean writing brush , this is different to other communist parties which
simply had the hammer and sickle (and some revisionist parties dispensed with
the hammer and sickle in favour of cherry trees and the like ). The WPK
included the writing brush to symbolise intellectuals , the WPK is a party of
the workers, intellectuals and peasants . When visiting the monument to the
foundation of the Party I was told that the leading role of intellectuals is
symbolised by the fact that the writing brush is higher than the hammer and
sickle.
The WPK is also different to many communist parties by the manner in
which it was founded . In some countries communist parties were formed as a
result of the secession from socialist or social democratic party or by the
merger of a number of revolutionary groups. In Britain the CPGB was founded by
a merger of the British Socialist Party , the Socialist Labour Party , the
Guild Communists and other groups in 1920. In Korea the foundation of the WPK
was a process which took place over a number of years.
The first step on this road was the formation
of the Down With Imperialism Union on the 17th of October 1926 .
The DIU was the first genuine
communist revolutionary organisation in Korea.
The formation of the DIU marked a clean break with the stagnant ideas of factionalism , flunkeyism and
dogmatism thus, it was a decisive leap
forward in the task of building a revolutionary working-class party in Korea.
The DIU completely broke with opportunism and also the national reformism of
bourgeois nationalists. As the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung said to the
meeting that founded the DIU
"Irreconcilable contradictions exist between the imperialists and people
in the colonies and these contradictions
are sharpening with the passage of time.
Because these contradictions are antagonistic they cannot be settled by any
kind of 'compromise ' and will only be solved when imperialism is
overthrown"
Thus the Korean revolution was set on the correct path.The foundation of
the DIU by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung heralded the dawn of a new era
of independence in which the popular masses became masters of their
fate,masters of their destiny.
Indeed as the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung said;
"The formation of this union, the first genuine communistic
revolutionary organisation in our country , was the historic announcement of a
new beginning for our revolution. With the formation of the DIU our people's revolutionary struggle began to
progress with the principle of independence and this was when our Party began
to strike its glorious roots"
The DIU proudly proclaimed its aims were to win independence and
liberation for Korea, to carry out the socialist revolution in Korea, to build
socialism and communism in Korea and to carry out the world revolution. Thus
for the first time in history the lines of national liberation and socialist
revolution were combined. Moreover the relationship between the national tasks
of the working class and its international tasks was affirmed. Both the line of
combing national liberation with socialism and the line of inter-relating the
national and international tasks of the struggle were a prototype form of the
Juche idea of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung. Independence and
self-reliance were the cornerstones of the DIU.
The DIU was a new kind of revolutionary
organisation founded among the youth and students of Korea . The great leader
comrade Kim Il Sung had prepared the ground for the formation of the DIU by
leading many struggles amongst the youth and students including a strike of
school students against reactionary teachers. These struggles fostered core
elements of the revolution. It was not formed from the factionalists who
indulged in empty talk and who were divorced from the popular masses as they
were drawn from the middle class , bourgeoisie and ruined aristocracy. The DIU fought for the
revolution on the basis of independence.
Later in 1930 comrade Kim Il Sung
formed the first party organisation called the Society for Rallying Comrades .
Party committees were also formed in the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army.
Thus when the WPK was formed in
October 1945 the groundwork for founding the party had been well prepared.
Since its inception the Workers Party of Korea
has been the organiser and guide of the Korean people, the supreme general
staff of the Korean revolution .
The WPK is the mother party that
takes care of the peoples lives. Free education and free health care were
introduced, long ago, indeed the free health system was introduced in the
flames of war in 1953. Korean people receive great social benefits such as free
housing and taxation was abolished in 1974. Now under the leadership of dear
respected Marshal Kim Jong Un the WPK is pushing forward all manner of projects
to improve living standards. Thus the DPRK is becoming a people's paradise the
envy of the world people and the model that the world revolutionary people
dream of.
The WPK under the guidance of the great leaders comrades Kim Il Sung,
Kim Jong Il and respected Marshal Kim Jong Un has united the people solidly
around itself, achieved single-hearted and single-minded unity the like of
which is not seen anywhere else in the world. The WPK has achieved total
oneness of ideology , a unique feat in the international communist movement.
The leader , party , army and people form an integral harmonious whole .No
other country in the world knows such unity and amity . This is due to the
outstanding leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung and his
Juche-orientated theories on party building. This has splendidly carried
forward by the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il who has built up the WPK as the
party of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung. Now the dear respected Marshal
Kim Jong Un has ensured that the WPK is and will always be the party of the
great leader President Kim Il Sung and
general Kim Jong Il.
The Workers' Party of Korea has staunchly fought against modern
revisionism , opportunism , flunkeyism ,dogmatism and factionalism .
The WPK upheld socialist principles in the
1990s when socialism was frustrated in number of countries due to the insidious
moves of the imperialists and renegades.
The WPK has always maintained revolutionary and class principles,
holding high the red flag of socialism even when others threw it down. Under the banner of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism
the WPK is not only the leading force of the Korean people but a shock brigade
of the world revolution.
. The WPK under the leadership of dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un is
guiding the people forward to smash the sanctions of the imperialists under the
uplifted banner of self-reliance !
