Crimes Committed by Japanese Army Unit 516

Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- In the 20th century, the Japanese imperialists organized unit 516, a group of devils like the notorious special unit 731 for germ warfare, to commit hideous unethical crimes.

The unit was a group of bloodthirsty felons for gas warfare formed by the Japanese imperialists out of their ambition of Asia conquest, irrespective of the international convention.

Its devils, branded as incarnate fiends in human history, had committed over 1 300 times of living-body tests and slaughter against Koreans, Chinese and Russians from 1937 to 1945.

In particular, many Koreans had been reduced into human guinea-pigs called "maruta (log)" to meet their miserable end.

A member of unit 516 confessed that it was too ghastly to look at the yperite-gassed dead whose whole bodies were covered with blisters as if they were burnt.

After the defeat of the Japanese imperialists on August 15, 1945, villains of unit 516 threw nearly 100 chemical drums into the Jangja River in a bid to massacre Koreans.

Today, gas experts necessary for Japan's reinvasion have been trained in large numbers at a chemistry school under the Japan "Self-Defence Forces".

All the facts clearly show that the Japanese imperialists are heinous human butchers and a group of beasts inveterate in cruelty and barbarity.
