The Stoke On Trent Branch of the Juche Idea Study Group and the Staffordshire Branch of the UK KFA wish to send our warmest greetings on the commemoration of the victory of the Korean people in the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953).
On June 25th, 1950, US Imperialism made a ferocious attack upon the then newly established Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea. Instead of the imperialist aggression being a success, it turned into a complete rout for the US and its puppet armies. With weeks of the FLW starting, 90 per cent of the territory of south Korea had been liberated from the neo-colonial rule of Syngman Rhee. The brilliant triumphs of the Korean Peoples Army were seen in such as battles as the storming of Taejon. The Korean people were fighting a war for national salvation against US imperialism and its satellites. At Sinchon-Ri, 35,380 Korean civilians were massacred by the US military.
The US Imperialists were forced to sign an Armistice Agreement without a victory on July27th, 1953. July 27th is rightfully regarded as the second liberation day of the Korean people. The victory of the Korean army and people in the FLW gave inspiration to the National Liberation Struggles of the Asian, African and Latin American peoples. The truly historic victory of the Korean people over the forces of US Imperialism during the righteous Fatherland Liberation War was achieved by the Ever-Triumphant, Iron-willed Brilliant Commander Generalismo KIM IL SUNG.
Under the direction of Marshal KIM JONG UN, the strategic nuclear forces were perfected, thus bringing an era of peace, stability and prosperity to the Korean Nation. The questions of Korea's independent and peaceful reunification is being resolved at an accelerated rate, Korea must be reunified by the efforts and will of the Korean people themselves in the North, South and Overseas. As a result of Songun Politics, the historic Summit Meeting took place between the DPRK Supreme Leader Chairman KIM JONG UN and the US President Donald J.Trump in Singapore on June 14th, 2018. The denuclearization of the entire Korean peninsula is now a realistic prospect. The example of the Fatherland Liberation War will always live in the hearts and minds of progressive people everywhere!!
