Korean Revolutionary Army

Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- The formation of the Korean Revolutionary Army (KRA), the first revolutionary armed organization of Korea founded on July 6, Juche 19 (1930), was the starting point of the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

PresidentKim Il Sung set forth the line of the anti-Japanese armed struggle as well as the Juche idea at the Kalun Meeting (June 30-July 2, 1930) and began organizing the KRA as the first step to implement the line.

The then situation demanded securing the arms and accumulating the military experience by own efforts. So, he determined to form a temporary political and paramilitary organization.

On the foundation day of the KRA, he made a speech "On the Mission and Basic Tasks of the Korean Revolutionary Army".

The KRA was the political and paramilitary organization to organize and make preparations for the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

Its mission and basic task was to train hard-core members for the armed struggle, secure the arms necessary for it, accumulate military experience, rally the masses and make full preparations for launching the anti-Japanese armed struggle through dynamic political and military activities.

With the formation of the KRA, it gained momentum to make fuller preparations for developing the anti-Japanese national liberation struggle into an organized armed struggle. -0-
