Today the Korean People's Army (KPA), commanded by dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is the sentential standing guard over the socialist achievements of the Korean people, their lives, their happiness and indeed their future hopes and aspirations . Indeed the KPA defends not only the independence and territorial integrity but peace and security in the Asia-Pacific region.
Watching grand military parades of the KPA in April 2012, July 2013, October 2015 and April 2017 I was deeply impressed by the overwhelming and awesome might of the KPA , particularly when tanks and rockets thundered past . I could only stare in wonder and marvel at the great achievements of the Juche-based and Songun-based Korean People's Army founded by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG , developed by the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL over the course of his decades long Songun revolutionary leadership and commanded by respected Marshal KIM JONG UN for the past 6 years . The achievements of the KPA seem even more incredible when you consider that it came from the most humble beginnings.
Really it all began with just two pistols that were bequeathed to the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG by this father Mr KIM HYONG JIK , who was also the founder and leader of the Korean National Association . The young KIM IL SUNG realised that it was useless to try and liberate Korea through peaceful means and instead put forward the slogan of “Oppose arms with arms and oppose counterrevolutionary violence with revolutionary violence! .He founded the Korean Revolutionary Army in July 1930 . Then on the 25th of April 1932 in the deep forests of Manchuria the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG founded the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army(AJPGA) , the first revolutionary people's armed force of Juche and the forerunner of today's Korean People's Army.
Under the leadership of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG , an ever victorious iron-willed brilliant commander and giflted military strategist , fought a David and Goliath struggle against
Japanese imperialism ,that was armed to the teeth. In those days the Korean people had no state or rear base to rely on . Instead they either seized weapons from the Japanese imperialists or made their own weapons such as the Yongil bomb. In the 1934 the AJPGA became the Korean People's Revolutionary Army(KPRA). It fought hundreds of battles against the marauding and vicious Japanese imperialist occupiers , smiting them many times over . Eventually Korea was liberated from Japanse imperialism.
The great leader President KIM IL SUNG made transforming the guerrilla based KPRA into the regular Korean People's Army which was founded on the 8th of February 1948. The KPA had a baptism of fire in the Fatherland Liberation War unleashed by the US imperialists and south Korean puppet reactionaries in June 1950 . By applying Juche-orientated tactics and Songun based tactics the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG led the KPA and Korean people to a great victory over US imperialism the first time that the US imperialists had been defeated.
After the Korean war
the US imperialists continued their provocations against the DPRK but
were smashed each time by the heroic KPA under the command of the
great revolutionary leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG. This included the
"Pueblo" incident of 1968, the EC121 incident, the
Panmunjom incident and others. I remember in December 1994 turning on the radio one wintry morning and learning that anti-aircraft gunners of the KPA had downed a Yankee helicopter with one shot !
Under the command of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN the KPA thwarted all the attempts of the US imperialists and their stooges to provoke a second Korean War (or World War Three) on the Korean peninsula .
The KPA founded 86 years ago ,is an army strong in both armament and ideology . It is the steel-strong force of Juche which defends the independence and socialism of Juche Korea ! Long live the 86th anniversary of the Korean People's Army !
