The
inaugural meeting of the International Organising Committee For the
International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu was
held in Minsk , the capital of the Republic of Belarus on the 11th of
April 2018. The meeting was held under the auspices of the DPRK
Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the Belarus
KIM IL SUNG -KIM JONG IL DPRK Friendship Association. Attending the
meeting was the delegation of the DPRK Committee for Cultural Relations
with Foreign Countries which included comrade So Hon Won , its vice
chairman and comrade Ryu Kyong Il director of its European Dept . The
DPRK Embassy in Belarus also attended the event . Delegates from the UK,
Denmark, Finland , Russia, Egypt, Belarus, Japan , Australia and Mexico
attended the meeting . Political parties represented were the Freedom
Socialist's Party of Egypt, the New Socialist Party of Japan and the
Socialist Popular Party of Mexico.
The purpose of the meeting was to
establish an international permanent standing body to organise the the
International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu which
are held every 5 years , the first one was held in February 2002 and
the last one was organised in August 2017. An international committee
was elected which includes KFA President Alejandro Cao De Benos , Martin
Lotscher from Swiss KFA and Dermot Hudson was elected.
The meeting was addressed by So Ho Won , also by Peter Woods and Raymond Ferguson of Australia , by Anders Kristensen from Denmark and by Dr Dermot Hudson . His speech read in part
"It is an honour to be here in anti-imperialist Belarus to mark the highly significant anniversaries of Juche Korea namely the Day of the Sun, the 6th anniversary of the election of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as the supreme leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the 86th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People's Army by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG. Also this conference will be a profound manifestation of anti-imperialist solidarity with Juche Korea which is facing the most unprecedented and harsh sanctions imposed by the US imperialists and their lackeys in the UN Security Council. The amount of sanctions imposed against Juche Korea is countless. The DPRK is also facing military threats, psychological warfare and regime change propaganda by US and world imperialism.

The anniversary of the birth of the great
leader comrade KIM IL SUNG is celebrated not only in Korea but in many lands
across the globe which reflects the fact that he was not only as the great
leader of the Korean people but the great leader of the world revolutionary
people. Last year myself and comrades from Britain were able to participate in
the wonderful celebrations of the 105th anniversary of the birth of
the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG which were held in April and then in
August a delegation from UK KFA travelled to the land of Juche , the land of Mt
Paektu to participate in the 5th International Festival in praise of
the Great Persons of Mt Paektu . We were honoured to see Mt Paektu, the sacred
mountain of the Korean revolution.".
The DPRK charge'd affaires for Belarus addressed the meeting and made an excellent speech. Also the head of the Belarus KIM IL SUNG
-KIM JONG IL DPRK Friendship Association made a very good speech.
The meeting decided that the DPRK 70th anniversary will be
celebrated grandly in September and there will be a peace march as well. .
Also in July an E Seminar on the 65th anniversary of the Korean peoples great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War .The meeting also resolved to increase solidarity with People's Korea.
. Delegates to the
meeting enjoyed a sightseeing tour of Minsk , the capital of Belarus which included the Victory Square .UK KFA is grateful to the DPRK Committee For Cultural Relations and the Belarus KIM IL SUNG -KIM JONG IL DPRK Friendship Association for organising the event
