The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE) ,the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula (BSCPRKP issued a joint statement hailing the successful inter-Korean summit :
On the 27th of April the 3rd Inter-Korean Summit was held in Panmunjom in the Demilitarised Zone between the DPRK and south .The DPRK supreme leader respected Marshal KIM JONG UN , chairman of the Workers Party of Korea, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army met with the south Korean chief executive Moon Jae In for frank and candid talks.
The summit reaffirmed that Korea should be reunified independently as originally stipulated in the June 15 2000 joint declaration and the 4th October 2007 declaration. It also put forward concrete ideas for creating a permanent peace on the Korean peninsula.
Our organisations hail the 3rd inter-Korean summit and support it . We believe it will pave the way towards a lasting peace and independent reunfication .
We believe that the summit was only possible because of firstly , the Juche-based independent viewpoint and patriotic stand of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN , secondly , the excellent and astute leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN who can break through all challenges and obastcles , thirdly , the Songun (Army first) policy . The summit reflected the consistent stand of the DPRK for independent,peaceful reunification.
The summit showed that the Korean people can solve the reunification issue themselves . There is no need for any outside force to get involved . There is no need for US troops to stay in south Korea !
There now needs to an international campaign to support peace in Korea and the conclusion of a treaty that will replace the outdated Korean Armistice Agreeement !
