UK KFA Pickets US Embassy to demand No Foal Eagle/Key Resolve 24.03.2018

The UK Korean Friendship Association organised a picket of the the newly built US Embassy in London to protest against Foal Eagle and Key Resolve, to demand peace and the withdrawal of US forces from south Korea. .This was held on the 24th of March at 1500 hours The picket was attended by members of the UK KFA, , the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK and Juche Idea Study Group of England . Also attending was a member of the Central Committee and Politburo of the New Communist Party , member of the Italian Communist Party in London and Labour party members . A newly joined KFA member from the far southcoast also joined the picket
The new building of the US is located in Vauxhall and is heavily guarded and difficult for picketers to find a good place to picket as you can stand directly in the front of the main entrance
Dr Dermot Hudson chairman of UK KFA addressed the picket saying that " Despite the thawing atmosphere on the Korean peninsula which included high level talks between the DPRK Supreme leader respected Marshal KIM JONG UN and the envoys of the south Korean president , the US and south Korean authorities have decided to hold Foal Eagle and Key Resolve
military exercises from the 1st of April " on a similar scale to previous years ". Involved in the exercises are 23,000 US troops and 300,000 south Korean puppet troops .
These exercises are an unwarranted challenge to the developing peace process on the Korean peninsula.Included in the exercises are landing craft operations. Clearly this is a rehearsal to invade People's Korea and destroy its socialist system .
This kind of warmongering by the US imperialists are undermining the chances of the peaceon the Korean peninsula . It could result in tensions increasing to the point of near war again.
We call for Foal Eagle and Key Resolve to be cancelled forthwith !
NO TO SANCTIONS, NO TO WAR !"
Dr Hudson also said that the appointment of warhawk John Bolton as US National Security advisor is a very bad sign which increases tension.
A message of support and solidarity from KFA Switzerland was read out which said in part " The Swiss Korea Committee (KFA Switzerland) sends you militant greetings of solidarity and support for your picket of the US Embassy in London against the US-south Korean war drills Key Resolve and Foal Eagle.
These aggressive military exercises are organized in a time when the inter-Korean relations were improved thanks to the sincere and serious peace and reconciliatory initiatives of the DPRK. "
The DPRK Flag ,UK KFA banner and WPK flag were raised high .Placards opposing the war exercises were raised.
Picketers stood in front of the US Embassy and said
"US out of Korea ! "
"No to sanctions !
No to war !"
One reactionary abused the picket but on the other hand some passers by said they supported us.
Picket concluded at 1700 hours.
