Chongryon Blasts Terrorism of Japanese Right-wing Gangsters

Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), called a press conference at the Central Hall of Chongryon in Tokyo on Friday as regards terrorism by Japanese right-wing gangsters.

Present there were media persons of Chongryon, Japan and south Korea.

The vice-chairman made public a statement at the conference.

The statement branded the terrorism against Chongryon as an unpardonable challenge to the DPRK and the Korean residents in Japan.

The Chongryon Central Standing Committee resolutely denounces such sordid terrorism in the name of all Koreans in Japan, it stressed.

The recent shooting spree is not simply an accident but a planned crime committed against the background of the Japanese authority's hostile policy toward the DPRK and Chongryon, the statement pointed out.

It said that the Japanese authority can never evade the blame for failing to prevent such terrorism.

The statement strongly demanded that the Japanese authority bring the two criminals to heavy punishment and inquire into the hidden circumstances of the case and take proper measures to prevent the reoccurrence of such case.
