Dr Dermot Hudson President of the ASSPUK and Chairman of the JISGE introduced the meeting saying that December sees the 100th anniversary of the birth of Madame KIM JONG SUK and also the sombre anniversary of the passing away of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL as well as the 6th anniversary of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN becoming Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army . Dr Hudson said that the test fire of the Hwasong 15 was a great victory for the Korean people.
Dr Hudson spoke about the 6th anniversary of the passing away of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL and the 26th anniversary of the appointment of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL as the supreme commmander of the Korean People's Army saying that " The passing away of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL was an event that caused immense and heart rending sorrow amongst the Korean people as well as the progressive people of the world. The media in the imperialist countries were stunned by the scenes of mass mourning and could not understand. Of course they could never understand the deep ties of loyalty and affection between the leader and the people in the DPRK .... Let us remember the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL as the great brilliant commander of Songun , the commander of independence ! Dr Hudson referring to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Madame KIM JONG SUK said " Comrade Kim Jong Suk is a great example for the revolutionary and progressive women of the whole world to learn from . She was indeed the great paragon of women revolutionaries. A model Juche type communist revolutionary... We believe that comrade Kim Jong Suk serves as a role model for anti-imperialist women revolutionaries throughout the world, her teachings show the correct way forward for the women's movement even in the imperialist countries. Today in the DPRK women are playing an increasing role in society thanks to the leadership of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who is carrying forward to make sure that the ideas of Madame Kim Jong Suk on women's emancipation. In the DPRK women were legally given equality with men in July 1946 . This is practically guaranteed by nurseries and kindergartens and many other measures . In the DPRK there is no pornography and no so-called 'sex industry ' which degrade women and turn them into objects"
A paper submitted by a woman KFA member who lives in Liverpool was read out. It said "A fact of great importance for women, is that Kim Jong Suk materialized the idea and guidance of Kim Il Sung regarding the organization of the women's global movement and all matters related to Korean women leading to create an increasingly important role. Fighting for an equal society, against the backward idea of women as a simple object at the service of men"
The secretary general of JISGE and ch"airman of Staffordshire KFA referring to the work "On Revolutionizing and Working Classizing Women" by President KIM IL SUNG as well as the position of women in general. "KIM IL SUNG viewed the participation of women in social affairs presupposing excellent conditions, so as to carry out their work without worries. In the DPRK, there are Kindergartens and nurseries in every town, village and enterprise. Working women are provided by the state with paid maternity leave and indeed even ensures them time to feed their babies. One important fact, is that there is full equality in terms of pay and conditions for women with men in the DPRK. There is a proactive policy by the WPK of increasing the proportion of women cadres and improving the qualifications of female functionaries in their roles. We witnessed a recent example of the evaluation of female cadres within the leadership of the Party and State, with the election of Kim Yo Jong to the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea in October 2017. Women in the DPRK have gained some prominent positions, such as the Korean Television Newsreader Ri Chun Hee, the Scientist Paek Sol Hui, the Labour Heroine Jong Chui Sil and the Marathon Runner Jong Song Ok. When I attended a social sciences' course in Pyongyang some years ago, the main lecturer was a women named Mun Jong Suk. "
A Politburo Member of the New Communist Party addressed the meeting stressing the importance of the anniversaries of the birth of Madame KIM JONG SUK and the passing away of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL . He said practical solidarity should be given to the DPRK in view of unceasing war threats .
Alex Mallima UK KFA Commissar addressed the meeting on the subject of the 50th anniversary of the work of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG ' LET US EMBODY MORE. THOROUGHLY THE REVOLUTIONARY. SPIRIT Of INDEPENDENCE,. SELF~SUSTENANCE AND. SELF-DEFENCE IN ALL FIELDS. OF STATE ACTIVITY ' . He said that this was a keynote work that laid down basic principles for all fields of state building . The work set forth absolutely correct policies for achieving reunification ,also for the question of foreign trade. In the work President KIM IL SUNG had stressed the need to support the struggle of the Vietnamese people against US imperialist aggression and took the practical measure of sending volunteers to Vietnam.
Speaking about the 6th anniversary of the appointment of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as Supreme Commander of the KPA Dr Hudson said "There is no doubt that dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is a most dynamic and energetic supreme commander who personally oversees missile tests like no other leader in the world .Marshal KIM JONG UN is the man that the US imperialists fear the most. Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN a daring and audacious iron-willed brilliant commander of Songun who will reunify Korea!"
Messages to the dear respected leader Marshal KIM JONG UN were adopted.
Excellent refreshments provided by comrades of the DPRK Embassy and donated by our members were enjoyed. After the meeting a party to celebrate the Hwasong 15 ICBM test was held
