The UK Korean Friendship Association today issued a statement condeming the provocative anti-DPRK remarks of British Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson.
Williamson said in an interview with the "Evening Standard " that“North Korea is a massive threat. They are a real danger to this country. They are currently on the pathway to have ballistic missiles that could strike London."
This is a complete travesty of the truth and a provocation to the DPRK.
The DPRK does not pose a threat to the UK and the DPRK's missiles do not target the UK . Only the US and Japan are defined as sworn enemies of the DPRK .
Williamson's remarks are reminiscent of old Cold War 'The Russians are coming ' remarks or worse still the claim made before the Iraq war that Iraq had missiles that could reach London in 45 minutes .
The Defence Secretary and the media are aiming at stirring up up anti DPRK hysteria and phobia and preparing the public for the participation of British forces in a second Korean War.
Willamson also announced the deployment of 2 British Royal Navy warships to Korean waters. This is a foolhardy act of joining hands with the US imperialists in preparations for a war against People's Korea.
UK KFA totally condemns Williamson's hysterical anti-DPRK tirade and the decision to deploy British warships in Korean waters.
Britain must not join hands with the US against People's Korea and must stay out of Korea .
