In a interview with the "Evening Standard", the British Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson made the assertion that North Korea could launch ballistic missiles against the United Kingdom and the DPRK is a huge threat to the security of Great Britain. These comments by a government minister are extremely irresponsible to have been said to the media and only sows panic and anxiety among the general public.
In reality, the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea poses no immediate
or long term threat to the UK, but the DPRK is threaten by the prospect
of invasion and nuclear war. For 1957 to the present day, the United
States has stationed nuclear weapons upon the soil of south Korea and
conducted massive "regime change simulation" military exercises such as
"Team Spirit" and "Foal Eagle". The United States has even worked out a
plan for a nuclear strike in the form "Operation 5027". After years of
facing unpresented threats to its security from the US side, the DPRK
has developed a nuclear deterrent force of its own. The nuclear weapons
of the DPRK are there for the defence purposes and all missile and
nuclear tests are conducted with the territory of Democratic Korea.
The British Government would be well advised to stay away from US-backed adventures against the DPRK. During the Korean War (1950-53) British troops were deployed against the DPRK, the suffering endured by the British Armed Forces in that conflict was not in the national interest. Instead, the UK should be compensating the Korean people for the all death and destruction which was brought upon the Korean peninsula. Another war in Korea would be a catastrophe for the whole of humanity. Recently, the Government of Theresa May has been in engaging Pro-US sycophantic actions such as increased sanctions against the DPRK, these sanctions have even reached the level of halting postal communications between the DPRK and the UK.
Instead the UK Government should seek an independent dignified foreign policy course and work for better relations with the DPRK and, strive for peace and reunification upon the Korean peninsula. At this time of Brexit, it would benefit the UK if it would have closer trade and cultural relations with the DPRK. The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea seeks relations with countries which respect its sovereignty, regardless of social systems. The comments uttered by Gavin William were unbecoming of a minister of a country which still has diplomatic ties with the DPRK. The Staffordshire KFA branch urges all people of goodwill to overcome Anti-DPRK hysteria and join in solidarity with the DPRK for peace and peaceful reunification of Korea!!
NO WAR IN KOREA!
KOREA IS ONE!
SOLIDARITY WITH PEOPLES KOREA!
