UK KFA refutes false allegation of "Wannacry" virus attack on the NHS by the the DPRK

27th October 2017
The UK Korean Friendship Association issued the following statement today in connection with the absurb allegations that People's Korea is somehow responsible for a cyber attack on the NHS earlier
this year using the "Wannacry " virus :
Ben Wallace the UK Home Office Security Minister blamed the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for  the Wannacry cyber attack against NHS hospitals in May this year . Wallace did not offer a shred of real evidence to link the cyber attack to the DPRK . As such it is a baseless allegation.
As a matter of fact ,explained by representatives of the DPRK Embassy in the UK, the people of the DPRK had never heard of the NHS before this attack , so how could they carry out a cyber attack on something they do not know about.
The DPRK has no reason or motive to mount cyber-attacks against British hospitals. This would make absolutely no sense  at all.  The DPRK does not regard the UK as an enemy Those who are spreading this story are quite dellusional . The Russian software security firm Kaspersky pointed out that "Our analysis indicates the attack, dubbed “WannaCry”, is initiated through an SMBv2 remote code execution in Microsoft Windows. This exploit (codenamed “EternalBlue”) has been made available on the internet through the Shadowbrokers dump on April 14th, 2017,”
So the investigation should centre on the US and not the DPRK ! Mr Wallace should instead turn his attention to finding the real culprits  !
