It
is a very honour to address this seminar on Independence and Peace
here in Rome the capital of Italy.
This year sees many keynote
anniversaries such as the 105th
anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade KIM
IL SUNG , the 75th
anniversary of the the birth of the great leader comrade KIM
JONG IL , the 5th
anniversary of the election of dear respected Marshal KIM
JONG UN as Supreme
leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea , the 5th
anniversary of the award of the title of Marshal to dear respected
Marshal KIM JONG UN
and the 100th
anniversary of the birth of Madame KIM
JONG SUK the
mother of Korea .
A
delegation of our organisations participated in the splendid
celebrations of the 105th
anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade KIM
IL SUNG in April.
During the celebrations we witnessed the mammoth military and
civilian parade held to commemorate the Day of the Sun . For the
first time we saw Special Forces troops of the Korean People's Army.
I am convinced that the Korean People's Army can liberate south Korea
and reunify the country finally ending the existence of the
reactionary, decadent anti-people fascist puppet regime of south
Korea .
In
July Juche Korea under the leadership of dear respected leader
Marshal
KIM
JONG UN scored
another great victory over US imperialism namely the successful
test-fire of the Hwasong-14 Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM)
. This shook the US imperialists rigid and inspired the world
revolutionary people with greater confidence. The Hwasong-14 ICBM is
the proud fruit of Juche, self-reliance and Songun .
A
few days time it will be the 20th
anniversary of the election of the great leader comrade KIM
JONG IL as the
general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea as well as the 72nd
anniversary of the foundation of the Workers Party of Korea. The
decision to unanimously elect the great leader comrade KIM
JONG IL as the
general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, on the 8th
of October 1997 reflected the deep respect, support and trust of the
WPK members and entire Korean people for the great leader comrade KIM
JONG IL who had
been leading the party for many years after starting work at the
Central Committee of the WPK in 1964. The great leader comrade KIM
JONG IL was the
successor to the great leader comrade
KIM
IL SUNG who
carried forward the Juche revolutionary cause and cause of Juche
party building. The exploits of the great leader comrade KIM
JONG IL as general
secretary of the WPK will live down the generations . The cause of
Juche-party building is wisely continued by dear respected Marshal
KIM JONG UN
who follows in the footsteps of the great leaders comrades KIM
IL SUNG and
KIM
JONG IL. The
Workers’ Party of Korea founded 72 years ago on the 10th
of October is the powerful revolutionary of Juche which is leading
the Korean people forward to a brighter morrow.
It
is also the anniversary of a number of highly significant works
authored by the great leaders comrade KIM
IL SUNG and comrade
KIM JONG IL.
Soon it will be the 30th
anniversary of the work 'On
Establishing the Juche Outlook on the Revolution
'. In June this year it was the 20th
anniversary of the publication of the work
On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of the
Revolution and Construction ' by
the great leader comrade KIM
JONG IL. This work
was a powerful manifesto against imperialism, dominationism and
globalisation and gave very valuable teachings to Juche idea
followers. To be a Juche idea follower means that you must oppose
imperialism, that you must oppose dominationism and big
power-chauvinism and that you must oppose globalisation . There can
be no compromise on the issue of opposing globalisation. Some
opportunistic and weakwilled elements on the so-called Left accept
globalisation but as Juche idea followers we must uphold the banner
of independence and shatter globalisation.
It
is also the 50th
anniversary of the very important work '
Let us embody the revolutionary spirit of independence,
self-sustenance and self-defence more thoroughly in all branches of
state activity ‘
by the great leader comrade
KIM
IL SUNG. This work
basically laid down the framework for Juche-orientated state building
and was a powerful inspiration to the peoples throughout the world
fighting against imperialism and for the building of new societies
free from oppression , exploitation and domination .
Today
the Juche Korea shines very brightly with true independence thanks to
the Juche Idea and Songun idea. Dear respected Marshal KIM
JONG UN has
continued along the road of Juche defying all attempts to derail its
independent course.. At the 7th
congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in May 2016 declared
that “"Worship
of big countries and dependence on foreign forces is the road to
national ruin; self-development alone is the road to sustaining the
dignity of our country and our nation and to paving a broad avenue
for the revolution and construction”
Today
everyone knows that the DPRK is the most independent country in the
world. Even the reactionary conservative British former premier John
Major , in a backhanded compliment , admitted that the DPRK has "
undiluted sovereignty".
The DPRK controls its own
armed forces and weapons . It's nuclear deterrent is a genuine
independent nuclear deterrent. No other country controls the DPRK
nuclear weapons When I was a child I read a book about weapons and
learnt that Britain's nuclear missiles could only be fired when 2
keys were inserted into the controls , one of the keys was held by an
American army officer. In the DPRK no other country holds the key to
its nuclear weapons , no other country has the codes for the DPRK
nuclear weapons or can stop the DPRK from using them ! . There is not
1 foreign soldier or military base of another country on the soil of
the DPRK.
The DPRK under the leadership
of the great leader comrade KIM
IL SUNG wisely
refused to join the Soviet revisionist led CMEA. Today the DPRK does
not belong to those institutions established by the global elite and
international monopoly and finance capital , which crush the
independence of nations and exploit the people such as the IMF,
World Bank , WTO, APEC or G20.
Juche Korea is a country that
pulsates with independence thanks to the Juche Idea and the Songun
revolutionary leadership of dear respected Marshal KIM
JONG UN the sun of
the 21st
century. In today’s world many countries have lost independence .
Even big powers such as Russia and China which are supposedly
anti-imperialist , bend down to US imperialism and co-operate. Juche
Korea under the leadership of dear respected Marshal KIM
JONG UN has carried
out nuclear tests and missile tests in defiance of the US and UNSC .
Despite sanctions and blockades , Juche Korea is bravely pushing
ahead on its chosen path . As dear respected Marshal
KIM
JONG UN said
“However
fair-minded and just we are, we may become a bargaining chip for the
strong and our precious history inherited with blood will lose its
shine in a moment if we are weak”
Juche Korea is a state that
can say what it likes and do what it likes , free from the shackles
of imperialism , dominationism and big power chauvinism . This is a
great inspiration to the progressive and revolutionary people of the
world who aspire for independence and want to create new societies.

builders and architects of Juche Korea and have made the Juche Idea
is a source of vital life giving energy.
Let
us intensify our study of the Juche Idea ! . Let us take the Juche
Idea with both hands and apply it thoroughly to our own countries !
