Ryomyong Street, Pride of the DPRK

On the occasion of the 105^th birthday of President Kim Il Sung, Ryomyong Street, the condensation of the maximum civilization sprang up in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK as a monumental creation in the era of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

Ryomyong Street covers the area from the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state to Ryongnam Hill where the Chairman made a historic oath “O Korea, I Will Add Glory to Thee”.

Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un personally visited the spot in March, Juche 105(2016) when the nuclear threats and sanctions of the imperialist allied forces and reactionaries reached their extreme to declare the construction of the street and he energetically guided the whole process of the construction.

He named the street to be built in the significant place where the dawn of the Korean revolution breaks “Ryomyong Street”.

The service personnel and people of the DPRK built the street which is twice as big as Mirae Scientists Street built in Juche 104(2015) in its scale and construction in just 9 months thus creating a miracle.

With the completion of Ryomyong Street, the sacred temple of the Sun and Ryongnamsan area were wonderfully turned into the best paradise of the Korean people where the dawn of the socialist victory breaks, so as to symbolize the future of the great Paektusan nation.

The street where the groups of green multi-storey buildings and skyscrapers make a perfect harmony based on a formative art on the highest level is the criterion of the Juche-oriented architectural arts which is making a leap forward day by day and it is the model and standard of the modern architectural street in which the socialist civilization is expressed.

The street, all the dwelling houses and public establishments of which are embodied the principals of convenience first and aesthetics first is an energy-saving and green one which introduced power-saving technologies that can make a good use of natural energies like solar and geothermal energy, the green technologies for the roofs and walls, the greenhouse farming technology on the rooftop using the rainwater storage technology and other state-of-the-art architectural technologies.

Applied to the dwelling houses and buildings are anion-generating synthetic wallpaper and paints so that they can make an environment beneficial to health.

What is important is that all the materials used for the construction including cement, steel, furniture, wallpaper and paints are produced by the Korean workers.

When walking about Ryomyong Street which is tiled with white and green and lying in a street with the realization of afforestation, you get the fresh feeling as if walking through a forest full of Korean larch trees and white birches.

The dwelling houses were provided to lecturers, scientists and ordinary workers for free thanks to the unchangeable popular policies of the WPK.

Through the construction of Ryomyong Street, the inexhaustible developing potentials of Juche Korea and the great power of self-development to build a thriving socialist nation were fully demonstrated.
