FM Spokesman of DPRK Flays Tillerson's Reckless Remark

Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry gave the following answer to question raised by KCNA on June 8 as regards the fact that the U.S. state secretary again made impetuous remarks inciting the atmosphere of sanctions and pressure on the DPRK:

At a joint press conference held on June 6, during his visit to New Zealand, the U.S. state secretary Tillerson blustered that they have called on all nations to join them in putting pressure on the DPRK to cause it to rethink its strategy with the development of the nuclear weapons program.

His rash remark is no more than a desperate attempt to appease the increasing internal and external criticism of the U.S. policy towards the DPRK and resort to international pressure on it.

It is really pathetic to see the supposedly top diplomat of the U.S. prattling about the already worn-out sanctions and pressure in utter ignorance of the DPRK and without even a basic sense of reality.

The high-ranking officials of the U.S. would never stop touting for the so-called "toughest sanctions and pressure on the north" over and again in the forlorn hope of bringing the DPRK down, but their reckless and imprudent acts would only bring devastation and humiliation to the U.S.

The time when the U.S. used to unilaterally impose its will on other countries through arbitrary and high-handed practices has gone for good and the U.S.-style bravado that picks and bullies only the weak countries can never work on the DPRK.

The U.S. should clearly understand that its military threats and all the fuss about sanctions and pressure are only serving as the momentum that pushes the DPRK further into developing the nuclear force.

The DPRK will vigorously speed up and intensify the development and diversification of its nuclear force until the U.S. and its followers come to their senses and make a right choice. -0-
