The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE) , the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA)and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula(BSCPRKP) issued a joint statement in support of the statement issued by the Foreign Ministry (FM) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) concerning the case of Otto Warmbier:
A truly hysterical campaign has taken place in the media of the US and those countries that follow the US such as the UK concerning the case of Otto Warmbier a US national who had been sentenced to re-education through corrective labour in the DPRK , Warmbier had been released on humanitarian grounds by the DPRK but had mysteriously died once back in the US . A furore has been kicked up
by US imperialist reactionary forces including US president Donald Trump and arch reactionary
Senator 'Oven Chips' McCain with calls for more sanctions and military action etc .
The facts of the case where that Warmbier a US national visiting the DPRK as a tourist committed a grave crime against the socialist system in January 2016. Warmbier was given a fair trial with his own defence lawyer to represent him. DPRK justice is people's justice, working class justice . It should be remembered that Warmbier was a citizen of a state that is technically at war with the DPRK as no peace treaty has been ever signed and the US is most hostile today . Warmbier had confessed to having worked through a third party with the US CIA .Warmbier was part of Trojan Horse operations by the US imperialists and other imperialists try undermine from within the socialist system of the DPRK ,derail Juche and restore the capitalist system . His punishment was a just one.
Basically, Warmbier under the Hague and Geneva conventions would not have the same level of protection as uniformed combatants , the DPRK could have taken more drastic measures against him should it have seen the need to do so. However Warmbier was sentenced to 15 year hard labour to re-educate him . When he became ill he was given medical treatment free of charge by the DPRK and his life was even saved by DPRK
doctors when his heart stopped beating,
Warmbier's death remains a mystery . It should be pointed out that Warmbier died in the US not the DPRK . No autopsy has been performed so the exact cause of death remains unknown.It was confirmed by the DPRK Foreign Ministry that Warmbier's health indicators were normal when he left the DPRK.
Some have raised the possibility that Warmbier died due to pre-existing or congenital medical conditions which were unknown . The DPRK Foreign Ministry itself in its statement drew a parallel with the case of apprehended US spy Hunziker who died shortly after being released by the DPRK and returning to the US . So we ask whether the US authorities were involved in the death in some way , whether they liquidate their own spies in order to safeguard secrecy ?
The US needs to stop its anti-DPRK campaign and tell the world the truth instead of inventing
lies about the tragic death of its citizen Warmbier .
