 The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE) , the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and UK Preparatory Committee For the 2017 Gathering to Praise the Great Persons Born of Mt Paektu today issued the following joint statement in support of the Memorandum issued by the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic
People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) on the 6th of April concerning the grave situation created on the Korean peninsula :
  The DPRK Foreign Ministry has issued an extremely detailed Memorandum concerning the grave
situation on the Korean peninsula caused by the increasing US imperialist hostility and provocation towards the independent and sovereign DPRK.  The preamble to the Memorandum reads as follows
"The level of political, military and economic pressure and aggressive schemes of the U.S. against the DPRK is now beyond the danger limit.
    It is without any hesitancy that heinous acts are committed to insult our supreme dignity. "Special operations" aimed at "getting rid of the headquarters of the north" are in an open preparation in the real stage.
    The U.S. is now staging military exercises against the DPRK at our doorstep, mobilizing the largest-ever aggression forces and state-of-the art nuclear striking means. They even threw off the deceptive veil as they said the military exercises were of "defensive nature".
    Not content with this, the U.S. is trying to disturb our socialist construction by imposing the toughest economic sanctions and blockades. Furthermore, it has revealed its open bid to cause economic suffocation against the DPRK.
    The situation on the Korean peninsula has come to the pass where it is no longer in control due to extreme provocative and aggressive war moves conducted by the U.S., which followed the path of getting worse.
    If the war sparks off on the Korean peninsula, there will come up with the issue of accounting for war provocation and postwar follow-up."
  Basically the US imperialists have brought the situation so close to war the issue becomes not one of whether war breaks out but an issue of apportioning the blame for the outbreak of war . The DPRK
Foreign Ministry details the threats made by different US administrations to the DPRK and  clarifies
the warnings given to the US by the DPRK Foreign Ministry , the National Defence Commission
of the DPRK and the General Staff of the KPA. It is a fact that the US designated the DPRK as
target of a pre-emptive nuclear strike some time ago. Moreover the US has piled sanction after sanction on the DPRK . On the 29th of March the US passed three separate sets of sanctions on the
DPRK . Moreover the US has repeatedly talked of  "regime change"  and 'special operations' to
remove the supreme leadership of the DPRK . This basically crosses  different red lines. Thus
the DPRK is compelled to take every option to defend its independence , to defend the socialist system and the supreme leadership.
  The Memorandum clarifies that under international law including the UN charter (article 51)the DPRK hasthe legitimate right of self -defence including pre-emptive attacks to deter aggression. Moreover the Memorandum points out that " The DPRK was founded by the general election involving both the north and south of Korea and by the general will of the entire Korean population. Since the south Korean authorities have flatly rejected the DPRK's proposal to found a reunified federal state leaving the ideologies and systems existing in the north and the south intact, the DPRK's great war of justice would be a fair and righteous exercise of the sovereign right of the state to reclaim the territory occupied by foreign forces, and it can never be condemned as "an act of aggression" on any account". This clarifies the DPRK is the only legitimate state on the Korean
peninsula and is fully entitled to take action to liberate south Korea and reunify Korea.
  The liberation of south Korea and the reunification of Korea will not only satisfy the long held and cherished aspiraiton of the entire Korean people for reunification but will be a tremendous boost to the world revolutionary movement and world progressive peoples . The final end of the reactionary , corrupt, putrid and decadent south Korean puppet regime is to be welcomed.
  Therefore our organisations strongly support the Memorandum of the DPRK Foreign Ministry.
