Rodong Sinmun Calls for Preventing Imperialists' Ideological and Cultural Poisoning

 Pyongyang, October 24 (KCNA) -- To prevent the imperialists' ideological and cultural poisoning is very important for further consolidating the politico-ideological base of the DPRK, Rodong Sinmun Monday says in an article.
    It goes on:
    What the imperialists fear most in the way of dominating and plundering other countries is the united strength of the people who have been politically awakened.
    As the struggle of the people for independence is gaining in scope and strength, the imperialist reactionary forces attach greater importance to the ideological and cultural poisoning and leave no means untried to this end.
    The main purpose of the imperialists' ideological and cultural poisoning is to spread bourgeois idea and capitalist lifestyle in other countries.
    In the past the reactionary idea and culture played the role of a guide for aggression, but now it plays a main role for aggression.
    In recent years the U.S. and other imperialist forces brought down governments in some countries and set up pro-U.S. regimes there through ideological and cultural poisoning and psychological warfare. As a matter of fact, this was hard to gain even through wars of aggression claiming huge expenses and heavy casualties.
    Finding it hard to bring the DPRK under control by force, they are now persistently working to infiltrate capitalist ideas and culture into its society, while frantically conducting all sorts of false propaganda against it, the article says, calling for rooting out all sorts of unsound and non-socialist factors in all fabrics of the society and establishing noble ideological and moral traits and lifestyle. -0-
