RESOLUTION ON RAF EXERCISES WITH JAPAN ADOPTED AT THE MEETING OF THE JUCHE IDEA STUDY GROUP ,ASSOCIATION FOR THE STUDY OF SONGUN POLITICS UK AND UK KOREAN FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION 01.02.2016

RESOLUTION

This meeting of the Juche Idea Study Group of England, Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK and the UK Korean Friendship strongly condemns the decision of the British government to send the Royal Air Force to the far east to hold so-called joint exercises with Japan Air"Self-Defense Force “from the middle of October.

No II (AC) Squadron, based at RAF Lossiemouth, will fly Typhoon fighter jets to Misawa Air Base in Northern Japan, for joint exercises with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF).

These exercises will

·        encourage the expansionist ambitions of Japan

·        help Japan become a military grant

·        threaten the Democratic People's Republic of Korea

   For the RAF to participate in such exercises with Japan it is tantamount to the British state condoning and conniving at Japan's fascistisation and expansionism. This is a sad day and completely wrong.

It appears that the governments want to repeat the history of the Korean War in which British troops were dispatched to fight against the DPRK

    Many British soldiers died fighting Japanese fascism in the Second World. A number of British troops and civilians were captured and tortured by the Japanese imperialists. A number of British prisoners perished on the so-called "Burma railway” .Now Britain is joining hands with the war criminal state Japan !

  British taxpayer’s money is being wasted on this foolhardy and ill-conceived joint exercise with the Japanese militarists.

We call for the planned exercises to be cancelled and believe that the labour, progressive and peace movement should campaign against the exercises.
