Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of
the DPRK gave the following answer to a question raised by KCNA Friday
as regards the fact that Britain is going to let its fighters take part
in the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises:
Britain reportedly decided to dispatch its fighters to the
U.S.-south Korea joint military drills due in south Korea from upcoming
November 4 to 10.
This is a hostile act of openly joining the U.S. and the south
Korean puppet forces in the moves for a new war against the DPRK.
At a time when the situation on the Korean peninsula is inching
close to the brink of a war due to the ceaseless military exercises
under various codenames staged by the U.S. and the south Korean puppet
forces, Britain decided to take part in the above-said saber-rattling.
This is a never-to-be pardoned serious challenge to peace and security.
Britain claims that its fighters' participation in the military
exercises is not targeted at the DPRK but the U.S. and the south Korean
puppet forces who are chiefly to blame for escalating the tension on the
Korean peninsula openly bluster that the exercises are aimed to mount a
strike at the military facilities and the command of the DPRK.
Britain which forged diplomatic relations with the DPRK on the
principle of mutual respect for sovereignty is joining in the anti-DPRK
moves of the hostile forces. This can never be overlooked.
Under the prevailing situation no one can vouch that the military
drills would not spill over into an actual war. It is clear, therefore,
that all the military means and equipment to be involved in the drills
will be put within the sight of the Korean People's Army.
Britain should draw a serious lesson from its past in which it
dispatched troops to the Korean war only to suffer huge losses of its
own citizens and it took part in the U.S.-led "regime change" operation
against Iraq and other countries only to bring an unprecedented
whirlwind of terrorism and refugee crisis to Europe as a whole, and
immediately withdraw its decision to take part in the military drills
for aggression. -0
