Kim Jong Un Sends Letter to Teaching Staff and Students of Kim Il Sung University

   Pyongyang, September 30 (KCNA) -- Supreme leader Kim Jong Un sent a letter "On the Basic Tasks Facing Kim Il Sung University in the New Era of the Juche Revolution" to the teaching staff and students of Kim Il Sung University on September 27 on the 70th anniversary of the university.
    In his letter Kim Jong Un said Kim Il Sung University is the center of training native cadres and the highest seat of Juche-oriented science and education.
    The history of the university is the history of victory of the Juche-oriented educational ideas and theories and outstanding leadership of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and the history of ardent and patriotic loyalty of the whole teaching staff and all students and graduates from the university, he said, and went on:
    Comrade Kim Il Sung regarded the educational work, the work for training native cadres as the most important state affair related to the destiny of the country and the nation and built the university before anything else despite so difficult and complicated situation after the liberation of the country.
    He clearly indicated the way to be followed by the university in each period and at each stage of the revolution and construction including the period of building a new country and the period of the Fatherland Liberation War and led the university so that it might train many fine native cadres required by the Party and the revolution.
    Comrade Kim Jong Il always paid deep attention to the work of Kim Il Sung University and wisely led it to fulfill its mission and duty before the era and revolution.
    After making the historic pledge on Ryongnam Hill long ago, he energetically led the university to thoroughly establish Juche in its educational work and turned it into one of the leader which regards the loyalty to him as lifeblood, the highest seat of Juche-oriented science and education.
    The Workers' Party of Korea is paying deep attention to the work for preserving and glorifying long the undying revolutionary exploits of the great leaders for development of the university and further developing the university into the world-level one as required by the era and the developing revolution.
    Since the founding of the university under the guidance of the great leaders and the Party, the university has played a pivotal role in training native cadres and developing science and technology of the country.
    The university has trained lots of reliable core and backbone elements of the Party and the state and competent experts in various fields capable of successfully accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche and dynamically pushed forward the building of a socialist power with great achievements in scientific researches, Kim Jong Un stressed that these are the distinguished feats performed by the university for the country and the revolution.
    Kim Jong Un, on behalf of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK Government, extended thanks to the whole teaching staff and all the students and graduates from the university who have greatly contributed to strengthening the university and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche for the past seven decades.
    Today the university is facing the sacred tasks to train more revolutionary talents faithful to the Party and the revolution and possessed of high ability as required by the new era of the Juche revolution, powerfully step up the building of a socialist power with the achievements in latest scientific researches and thus proactively contribute to carrying out the cause of modeling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, he said, indicating the tasks and ways for doing so.
    He continued:
    It is necessary to strengthen Kim Il Sung University into the one of the great leaders forever.
    It is the general orientation of building Kim Il Sung University in the new era of the Juche revolution to invariably adhere to the revolutionary character and nature as the university of the leader and strengthen it into the university of the great leaders demonstrating its fame to the world.
    It is imperative to further strengthen Kim Il Sung University into the first-class university in the world.
    It is important to closely combine education with scientific researches and develop the university into the one with a main emphasis on the training of creative talents and creation of the latest scientific theories and technologies.
    It is necessary to direct the Party's and state's efforts to the work for putting Kim Il Sung University on the first-class level in the world.
    Kim Jong Un expressed the conviction that the day of the final victory of the Juche revolution will be brought earlier when the university advances toward the world full of confidence and viability, saying that very great is the expectation put by the Party and the people on the university.
    He expressed the firm belief that all the teachers, researchers, officials, employees and students of the university would glorify long the university as the one of the great leaders, turn it into one of the first-class university in the world and thus creditably fulfill its sacred mission and duty before the times and the revolution, true to the intention of the Party Central Committee. -0
