Pyongyang,
August 27 (KCNA) -- The chief of security officers of the Korean
People's Army (KPA) at Panmunjom warned the provocateurs as follows
Saturday against their deliberate provocation getting on the nerves of
the soldiers of the KPA side in the area of Panmunjom:
Floodlight directed at the KPA side at random is taken as an
intolerable means of provocation and it will be the target of merciless
pinpoint shots.
The fate of provocateurs running reckless in front of the KPA side cannot be otherwise.
The KPA does not make an empty talk.
According to the chief of security officers, the enemies are
directing high-wattage floodlight to the observation outpost of the KPA
side and committing deliberate provocation rattling the nerves of KPA
soldiers on purpose from Friday evening in the sensitive area of
Panmunjom at a time when the situation on the Korean peninsula has
reached the brink of a war due to the Ulji Freedom Guardian joint
military drills the U.S. imperialists started with the south Korean
puppet forces.
This has seriously threatened the safety of the KPA soldiers on duty and hindered their normal observation activities.
Saying that Panmunjom is well known as the hotspot where even an
accidental minor act may spill over into an irrevocable physical
conflict in a moment, the chief continued:
The U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet forces who are
well aware of this are escalating the tension on the Korean peninsula to
extremes while conducting the joint military drill for aggression. The
provocation being committed against this backdrop cannot be construed
otherwise than a premeditated and intentional plot against the KPA.
The true aim sought by the provocateurs through their recent act is
to seriously get on the nerves of the KPA soldiers, lead them to take
due countermeasures and label them as provocation.
The chief clarified that the KPA soldiers at Panmunjom are closely following the moves of the provocateurs. -0-
