Int'l Human Rights Bodies Urged to Bring S. Korean Abductors of Women of DPRK to Justice

Pyongyang, July 16 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Association for Human Rights Studies Friday gave the following answer to the question put by KCNA as regards the fact that Amnesty International recently demanded the south Korean puppet authorities open to public the fate of a group of women citizens of the DPRK who were lured and abducted to south Korea by south Korean gangsters:
    As already reported, three months have passed since the south Korean authorities let gangsters of the "Intelligence Service" lure and abduct in daylight more than 10 women citizens of the DPRK who had worked abroad to south Korea in early April.
    However, the south Korean authorities are unhesitatingly committing such unethical acts as refusing to confirm the fate of the abductees, not content with banning any contact with media, the most elementary requirement for ensuring human rights.
    This is a wanton violation of all the international conventions on human rights and the most despicable inhuman behavior.
    The recent claim of Amnesty International that the south Korean authorities should provide DPRK citizens with conditions for legal consultation and dialogue with their families in hometown proves that the south Korean puppet authorities have become targets of serious concern and censure by the international community as they are a typical group of gangsters utterly indifferent to the universally accepted human rights and the most elementary humanitarianism.
    It is preposterous for the south Korean authorities to talk about "protection" while keeping the innocent citizens of the DPRK in custody in the puppet Intelligence Service and a blatant challenge to the strong demand of the public at home and abroad for their repatriation.
    The despicable group of criminals should pay a dear price for adding to their crimes, keen on escalating the confrontation with the fellow countrymen in the north.
    The UN, the UN Human Rights Council and other international human rights organizations should call the south Korean authorities and the gangsters of the IS for the hideous human rights abuses and bring them to justice. They should take practical measures to ensure that the demand of the families of the victims for sending back the abductees to the fold of their kith and kin as soon as possible is met. -0-
