The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE) ,the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and the UK Preparatory Committee For the 2017 Gathering to Praise the Great Persons Born of Mt Paektu issued a joint statement supporting the letter adopted at the joint conference of the Government, Political Parties and Organizations of the DPRK held on June 9 to the UN Secretariat;
The joint conference of the Government, Political Parties and Organizations of the DPRK adopted a letter to the UN Secretariat which was duly conveyed to the UN secretariat by the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the 13th of June.
Our organisations support the letter because the UN has acted in a most deplorable manner in Korea. As the letter correctly points out " In fact, the UN assumes a historical, legal and moral responsibility for the reunification issue of Korea, from which it cannot turn away." This is so true .
Right from the start the UN has acted on behalf of the United States and has committed various crimes against the Korean people. It was the UN that contributed to Korea's division in the 1940s. The UN in the 1950s provided a legalistic fig-leaf for the US imperialist intervention in Korea and even used the name of the UN to send the troops of 15 satellite countries of the US to Korea .
These days the UN shows remarkable bias and one-sidedness against People's Korea by enforcing unjust sanctions and other hostile acts against the DPRK.
We believe that the UN must act in a fair and impartial way , it must respect the sovereignty of the DPRK , the UN must not act as a puppet of the US and the UN
must make a meaningful and positive contribution to Korean reunification so as
to wipe the slate clean !
