Socialist Labor Law of DPRK

 Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) -- People in the DPRK are leading an independent and creative life as genuine masters of the society.
    Their right to work is fully guaranteed by the Socialist Labor Law which was enacted and promulgated at the second session of the sixth Supreme People's Assembly held in April Juche 67 (1978) in the presence of President
Kim Il Sung.
    The law stipulates the fundamental principles of labor in socialist society, citizens' duty to labor, socialist distribution according to the work done, technological revolution and improvement of their technical skills, labor protection, labor and relaxation and state and social benefits for the working people.
    Thanks to this law, any able-bodied has the right to being provided with stable jobs by the state in accordance with their wish and ability.
    And regular and study-while-working educational systems are playing an important role in training all the people for persons of high ability.
    The popular labor protection policy of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government urges all working sites to be fully equipped with safety facilities and industrial hygienic conditions.
    Working people in the DPRK are also enjoying benefits from 8-hour working system, paid-leave system, system of accommodation at health resorts and holiday homes at the expense of the state, etc.
    The DPRK is already well-known over the world for its free compulsory education system and free medical care system as well as social insurance and pension systems. -0-
