President Kim Il Sung and His Excellency Kim Jong Il, the great leaders of the Korean people, who devoted their all to the cause of humanity for independence, live long in the hearts of the world progressive people, and the immortal achievements they accomplished for the times and history are shining more brightly all over the world as the years go by.
President Kim Il Sung, reflecting the aspirations and desire of humanity, created the Juche idea and pioneered a new era of independence for human emancipation, and His Excellency Kim Jong Il, with the Songun politics, frustrated the imperialists' arbitrariness and high-handedness and defended world peace and justice, thus adding luster to the era of independence and shaping the bright future of humanity.
Thanks to the Songun leadership of His Excellency Kim Jong Un, the cause of humanity for independence is now amply demonstrating its vitality in Korea, where a society truly of people has been established, and making a vigorous advance on a world-wide scale with the great influence. And its final victory is certain.
Last October, representatives of organizations formed in different countries of the world for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people, met in Pyongyang and appealed to the world progressive people to have a grand international gathering in Mt. Paekdu, the spirit and symbol of Korea, in the year 2017, which will mark the 105th birthday of President Kim Il Sung the 75th birthday of His Excellency Kim Jong Il and the 5th anniversary of the election of his Excellency Kim Jong Un– the event that holds them in high esteem as the Great Persons of Mt. Paekdu, as they opened an era of independence and guided the sacred cause for freedom and happiness of the people and peace and prosperity of humanity.
We, who are active in supporting the just cause of the Korean people in the Asia-Pacific region, warmly welcome the proposed convocation of "Gathering 2017 - Praise to the Great Persons of Mt. Paekdu", and are pleased to inform the world progressive people that the Asia-Pacific Regional Preparatory Committee for "Gathering 2017 - Praise to the Great Persons of Mt. Paekdu" has been formed with prominent personalities in the political and public circles and representatives of NGOs in order to speed up its preparations vigorously and elevate a festive mood for the 105th birthday of President Kim Il Sung the 75th birthday of His Excellency Kim Jong Il and the 5th anniversary of the election of his Execellency Kim Jong from this year on.
The Asia-Pacific Regional Preparatory Committee will see to it that various events in praise of Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il, and Kim Jong Un including seminar on their achievements, memorial meeting, friendship get-together, cultural performance and film show, will be held in different countries of the region, thereby demonstrating to the world the aspirations and will of the world progressive people to accomplish to the end the cause of humanity for independence, as well as the cause of global independence, as desired by them, and positively diffuse information on the realities of Korea where marked progress is being made under the Songun leadership of His Excellency Kim Jong Un.
As preparatory committees for the "Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt. Paekdu" and preparatory committees for the Day of Sun and the Day of the Shining Star for 2017 are to be formed more in the future in various regions and countries across the world, we hold, it is necessary to organize an International Preparatory Committee that coordinates and assists in their activities as a whole, so that it can energize the work of praising President Kim Il Sung and His Excellency Kim Jong Il throughout the world and actively giving publicity to the achievements of the Songun leadership of His Excellency Kim Jong Un, who are brilliantly succeeding to their cause.
Now in Korea, with the approach of the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, new creations are springing up day by day, unprecedented successes being made. And afterwards with the great strategic programme the Congress will present, it is to be followed by a golden age in building a thriving nation.
We will always extend our full support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle to build a thriving nation and achieve the country's reunification, single-heartedly united around Kim Jong Un, who are brilliantly realizing the instructions of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
