The Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the 6th of January at 10am successfully tested a a Hydrogen bomb , a weapon of incredible destructive power which puts the DPRK on a level playing field with the US. In carrying out the test the DPRK defied the US imperialists, the UNSC, the south Korean puppets but also the big powers that neighbour the DPRK. It was a most powerful manifestation of the DPRK's independence , of the DPRK going its own way , the Juche way !
As the DPRK government statement said " Genuine peace and security cannot be achieved through humiliating solicitation or compromise at the negotiating table.
The present-day grim reality clearly proves once again the immutable truth that one's destiny should be defended by one's own efforts.
Nothing is more foolish than dropping a hunting gun before herds of ferocious wolves."
Some believe that they can secure peace by co-operating with the imperialists but this is just an illusion. Some countries such as Libya and Iraq disarmed themselves only to be invaded by the US and other imperialists. Libya's Colonel Gadhafi even thought some imperialist politicians were his best friends only to be horribly murdered by the hirelings of US imperilalism.
Some imperialist politicians such as the dreadful and clownish Donald Trump , the hardline and controversial Republican Presidential candidate, and now US state of secretary of state Kerry claim that China can or should be be engaged and persuaded to put pressure on People's Korea . Even some people who are friends of the DPRK think that the DPRK is in some way beholden to China and of course you have some organisations and individuals who think that somehow China is some of great revolutionary anti-imperialist power and proletarian revolutionary state . Those who think that 'China can sort out north Korea ' are mistaken and are totally ignorant of both the independent and self-reliant nature of the DPRK and its relationship with some other countries . Another big power , the former Soviet Union had deep illusions that it could control the DPRK and influence events there . The USSR and CPSU under the leadership of the revisionist Khruschov tried to instigate factionalists within the leadership of the WPK to stage a counter-revolutionary coup but they failed. The USSR tried to force the DPRK to join the CMEA (or COMECON) they refused and instead the great President KIM IL SUNG put forward the line of the self-reliant independent economy . In the early 1960s the Soviet big power chauvinists displeased with the DPRK's independent line and its anti-revisionist stance imposed their own sanctions on the DPRK and suspended deliveries of weapons to the DPRK. Of course this caused some losses to the DPRK and delayed the development of the national economy a bit but in the long run it failed.
When the split in the international communist movement occurred the DPRK and WPK maintained relations with all socialist countries such as the USSR, China, Albania, Romania and Cuba. The DPRK pursued a totally independent policy. On some issues its stance was different to the USSR's and on other foreign policy issues it pursued a different line to China(on Angola and the MPLA for example).
With regard to China , they too also put pressure on the DPRK to open up and reform but the DPRK under President KIM IL SUNG and leader KIM JONG IL declined their request and stood firm. China from for a long period beginning in 1992 demanded that the DPRK pay for goods that it imported from in dollars. This caused difficulties for the DPRK but it did not collapse .
Even if China heeded the words of Trump and Kerry they would not be able to succeed in putting pressure on the DPRK to give its up its nuclear deterrent . They could not shut the DPRK down .
Visiting the DPRK in recent years I noticed that a change had taken place now most of the goods on sale in DPRK shops are made in the DPRK ,whereas in the 1990s I can remember lots of Chinese products in the shops . Many new buildings have been constructed in the DPRK and new ones are springing up all the time . These buildings are built by DPRK workers and soldiers not by another country .By virtue of self-reliance and Juche the DPRK can withstand sanctions whether from the imperialists or elsewhere.
As Marshal KIM JONG UN said "Worship of big countries and dependence on foreign forces is the road to national ruin; self-development alone is the road to sustaining the dignity of our country and our nation and to paving a broad avenue for the revolution and construction"
These words were put into effect when the DPRK tested its first H bomb successfully. The DPRK's H bomb is a product of indigenous wisdom, technology and effort. It is not the gift of another country nor can another country stop the DPRK from having a nuclear deterrent.
The H bomb test by the DPRK is a powerful demonstration of its independence , its spirit of self-reliance based on the great Juche Idea which has rocked the imperialist world.
