Hoeryong City, locating in the northern part of the DPRK, is the place where anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk was born.
Kim Jong Suk was born of extremely poor peasant family on December 24, Juche 6(1917).
The family of Kim Jong Suk was patriotic and revolutionary family who participated in the independence movement against the Japanese imperialists’ occupation of Korea.
Kim Jong Suk’s father Kim Chun San, a patriot who waged the independence movement against the Japanese imperialists, passed away in a foreign land.
Helping her husband’s patriotic struggle, Mrs O brought up her sons and daughter to be ardent patriots and resolute revolutionaries and was dead by the Japanese imperialists’ punitive campaign in July, 1932.
As a skillful underground worker, elder brother of anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk, Kim Ki Jun struggled bravely to carry out revolutionary line of President Kim Il Sung and was murdered by the enemies in 1934.
In the end of December, (1933), her younger brother Kim Ki Song, member of the Children’s Corps was sacrificed while luring the enemies to rescue the people of guerrilla base.
In such a revolutionary family, anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk who fostered patriotic mind of loving the country and people and hating the Japanese imperialists and landlords, set out on the road of revolution in her early days with the burning hostility against the enemies.
Joining the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army, anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk became the first body-guard of President Kim Il Sung and devoted her all for national liberation.
After national liberation, anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk energetically carried out the plan of building a new country advanced by President Kim Il Sung.
Today, too, people of the DPRK hand down the exploits accomplished by anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk and her revolutionary family before the motherland and people.
