The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK, Juche Idea Study Group of England and UK Korea Friendship Association issued the following joint statement concerning the fact that it is 70 years since US imperialist aggression troops occupied south Korea
On the 8th of September 1945 US troops landed in south Korea. Korea had already been liberated on the 15th of August by the heroic guerrillas of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army commanded by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung. The Korean people were out to build a new life but in south Korea the US troops ruined this. Right from the start the US troops committed atrocities against the Korean people . One of their first actions was to suppress the people's committees that had been set up by the people in south Korea. They brutally suppressed the communist and progressive forces in south Korea killing many people . The US troops drenched Jeju Island in blood when the people there rose up. It is the US that created various fascist dictatorships in south Korea such as the Park Chung Hee fascist regime( a prototype for pro imperialist reactionary fascist dictatorships in the oppressed countries of the third world). It was the US that instigated the Kwangju massacre in 1980 in which over 2,000 people died.
The US imperialists, the chieftain of world imperialism and ringleader of international reaction committed the very serious criminal action of dividing Korea, a homogeneous nation which had existed for more than 5,000 years. Korea was a a civilised nation when America was just a wilderness. Indeed the Korean nation existed long before the US did. The occupation of south Korea by US troops today is the main factor causing Korea's division. The very presence of US imperialist troops in south Korea is an insult to the Korean people.
The 70 years of the occupation of south Korea by the US troops have been 70 years of infamy and crime . They have been 69years of oppression of the south Korean people by the US troops. The US troops in south Korea enjoy extra-territorial privileges in south Korea which means in effect that they can act like colonial overlords in south Korea and can commit crimes such a murder, rape, theft and drug dealing with impunity. The south Korean people are forced to pay taxes for the "upkeep" of the US troops and their bases. This is simply a form of colonial tribute . South Korea has become an anachronism, a colony of the modern type in the 21st century .
The US imperialist troops in south Korea creat tension and menace
world peace . As the Korean Jurists committee statement of the 5th of September 2014 said " The U.S. has systematically scrapped key articles of the AA by introducing weaponry including nuclear weapons into south Koreas and escalating various war drills for aggression and steadily ratcheted up the tension on the peninsula.
The U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK finds its vivid manifestation in the fact that it not only has posed military threat and staged madcap drills for provoking a nuclear war but employed every possible means and method to isolate and stifle the DPRK." The US troops in south Korea continually stage war exercises such as Ulji Freedom Guardian threatening the DPRK .
We, the ASSPUK, JISGE and UK KFA ,declare that the time for the withdrawal of US troops is long overdue in fact the US troops should have never gone to Korea ,a country thousands of miles from the US, in the first place. 70 years is 70 years too long , even 1 day of US occupation is an intolerable crime. We say it is time for the US troops to pack their bags and go home leaving the Korean people free to decided their own affairs and reunify the country. Let the shout of YANKEES OUT OF KOREA! reverberate far and wide
