The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK and the Juche Idea Study Group of England issued a joint statement on the 18th anniversary of the election of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea on the 8th of October.

                                              The decision to unanimously elect the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as the general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea reflected the deep respect, support and trust of the WPK members and entire Korean people for the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il who had been leading the party for many years after starting work at the Central Committee of the WPK in 1964. The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il was the successor to the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung who carried forward the Juche  revolutionary cause and cause of Juche party building.
                                    As the dear respected leader Marshal Kim Jong Un pointed out;
"The most important guarantee for victory in the revolution is to strengthen the party, the General Staff of the revolution, and solidify the driving force of the revolution by uniting the service personnel and people around it."
                         The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il  as general secretary of the WPK was always amongst the KPA soldiers and people uniting them around the Party the general staff of the revolution.
                                        The WPK under the leadership of the great comrade Kim Jong Il pushed forward with the Songun revolution with the KPA as the core force of the revolution. The Songun politics of the Workers' Party of Korea were developed in depth and scope by the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as general secretary of the WPK. The WPK enhanced its leadership over the revolution defeating the anti-socialist machinations of the imperialists,renegades and opportunists.
 During the tenure of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as the general secretary of the WPK big strides were made in developing the economy and improving living standards as well as in the work of defence upbuilding .
    The 4th Conference of the Workers' Party of Korea took the historic decision to elect as its eternal general secretary the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il fully reflecting the aspirations of the party members and popular masses to always uphold great comrade Kim Jong Il in high esteem.
As the dear respected leader Marshal Kim Jong Un said
"Our Party, with him as its eternal General Secretary, can carry the revolutionary cause of Juche and the revolutionary cause of Songun to brilliant completion with a solid organizational and ideological guarantee for leading the revolution and construction to victory"
                                                The exploits of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as general secretary of the WPK will be immortal . The cause of Juche-party building is being  wisely continued by dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who follows in the footsteps of the great leaders comrades Kim Il Sung and  Kim Jong Il.
