President KIM IL SUNG was always amongst the people giving on the spot guidance . He often walked the socialist co-operative fields , in fact right up to the very end of his life.
                                             

Our Juche Idea Study Group delegation stayed in the Democratic People-s Republic of Korea in June 1994. We were the last delegation of British progressive and friends of Korea to visit the DPRK before the great leader President KIM IL SUNG passed away on the 8th of July 1994.

 A day after we had arrived we opened  a copy of  Rodong Sinmun (Labour Daily) the organ of the central committee of the Workers' Party of Korea  and saw the picture of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG giving guidance to socialist co-operative farms near Pyongyang.  I remember very clearly the image of President KIM IL SUNG looking at balloon irrigation at the Taesong co-operative farm .We could only marvel at this as President KIM IL SUNG was 82 years old at the time  but was still walking the farm fields as he had done so ever since the new People's Korea was founded nearly 50 years before. Many people retire at 60 or 65 or even in their 50s but the great leader President KIM IL SUNG kept on working treading the farm fields even in the heat of June !

President KIM IL SUNG was himself the son of a poor peasant and had developed intimate ties with the working farmers of Korea . In 1946 he had carried out the Agrarian Reform distributing land free of charge to the farmers without compensation to landlords. He even re distributed a big mansion belonging to an avaricious landlord to a poor peasant . Such radical redistribution of property is unheard of anywhere else in the world ! President KIM IL SUNG personally transplanted rice plant seedlings on the Mirim plain in the 1940s.
                                    

During the Fatherland Liberation War  President KIM IL SUNG personally did farm work with the farmers at Wonhwa Ri in May 1952. Afterwards he visited the farm many times and became a honorary member of the co-operative.
                                

In February 1960  President KIM IL SUNG stayed at the Chongsan Ri co-operative farm for 15 days giving on the spot guidance and established the famous Chongsan Ri method.

Throughout his life regardless of   rain , shine , hot or cold , President KIM IL SUNG trod the fields of the socialist co-operative farms guiding and helping the farmers to bring about bumper crops and achieve the final victory of socialism ! We recall this fact when we remember our visit to the DPRK in June 1994 when we saw with our own eyes on tv and in the papers the great leader  on the farm fields !

Today the people-orienated, Juche-based leadership of President KIM IL SUNG is continuined by the dear respected leader Marshal KIM JONG UN who also tread the paths of the socialist co-operative farm fields following in the footsteps of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG  the sun of Juche !
