Pyongyang City of Calm

One thing about visiting Pyongyang is that it is really peaceful, quiet and calm(except for big keynote celebrations) . When you are in Pyongyang you rarely hear sirens of emergency vehicles racing up and down nor do you get police helicopters hovering above making lots of noise, In the DPRK the civil police of the Ministry of People's Security are unarmed and do not walk around with bulky machine-guns like some people in London , their function is simply controlling the traffic.
