Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and the south Korean puppet
forces have kicked off large-scale joint naval maneuvers as part of Foal
Eagle war games, further escalating tension on the Korean peninsula.
Involved in the drills staged under the signboard of "improving the
capabilities for joint landing operation" were naval forces of the U.S.
imperialist aggressor forces and the south Korean puppet army and
marines, more than 7 600 in all, over 30 warships including landing
craft, transport ships, Aegis destroyers and submarines, more than 80
aircraft and at least 40 amphibious armored vehicles.
Those forces for a preemptive attack staged such offensive drills as
the ones for naval infiltration and coastal reconnaissance and the one
for large-scale naval bombardment and air strike for wiping out forces
in a targeted area.
A drill for mobilizing civilian ships for the transport of landing
forces and the one of copters of the U.S. marines for taking off from
and landing on transports of the south Korean puppet army and rehearsal
of hurling south Korean marines into a targeted area were staged only to
bring to light the aggressive nature of Foal Eagle joint military
drills being termed by the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces
"annual and defensive".
In a nutshell, the above-said joint naval maneuvers were aimed to
test large-scale landing operations under the simulated conditions of an
actual war, the scenario for having ground forces and marines of the
U.S. and the puppet south Korean army landed on the coasts of the DPRK.
Such grave maneuvers being staged as part of Foal Eagle aimed at
"occupying Pyongyang" are being censured by the international community
as a blatant challenge to regional peace and security and dangerous
military actions of warmongers to ignite a nuclear war at any cost.
Nevertheless, the U.S. and the puppet warmongers are so ridiculous
as to describe their DPRK-targeted war drills as the ones for seeking
"an opportunity of tightening joint military posture" and "contributing
to regional peace and security in the long run."
As known, Foal Eagle war games are the largest of the south
Korea-U.S. joint military drills as they are combined field mobile
rehearsals aimed at mounting a surprise guerilla attack upon the DPRK.
Foal Eagle war games this year are assuming ever more provocative
nature in the light of their programs and forms as they are being staged
in the sky, ground and sea of south Korea for a pre-emptive attack on
the DPRK, pursuant to the tailored deterrence strategy.
The trigger-happy forces are working with bloodshot eyes to realize
the scenario for mounting a sudden preemptive attack upon the DPRK
through rapid hurling of U.S. imperialist aggressor forces, their
forward deployment and use of south Korea-U.S. combined forces.
Now peace and security on the Korean peninsula and other parts in
the world are seriously harassed by the ceaseless DPRK-targeted war
drills of the U.S. and the south Korean puppet war maniacs.
Now that the defusing of tension on the peninsula and mending of
north-south relations are more urgently required than ever before, the
above-said landing drills are lashing its service personnel and people
into great fury.
The service personnel and people of the DPRK will never allow the
U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces' war moves to infringe upon the
sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK.
The saber-rattling of the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces will only precipitate their final ruin. -0-
