KFA carried the fight to defend the DPRK to Liverpool City the former
stamping ground of arch anti-DPRK reactionary Lord Alton of Liverpool.
We held a lively meeting which was attended by KFA members and young
people from Liverpool University . The meeting heard from UK KFA Offical
Delegate Dermot Hudson who said
"In today’s world no other country is attacked and abused than the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, a genuine socialist country and homeland of the great Juche idea , a unique idea that embodies the spirit of true independence. The propaganda against the DPRK is now daily and sometimes even hourly . All kinds of false reports are circulated about the DPRK , often with a degree of unparalleled cynicism as many of those involved in circulating the stories know full well that the stories are not true , cannot be true and 9 times out of 10 are subsequently proved to be untrue after a few months. The media attacks on the DPRK are of an intensity and ferocity that outstrips the very worst days of the Cold War. I would go as far as to say that the media attacks on the DPRK and the Juche Idea are more extreme that those made on Islam by the media . Indeed although the tabloid papers such as the “Sun” constantly denigrate Muslims usually the so-called quality papers come out with things like “not all Muslims are the same “ etc , however with the DPRK there no one in the media who steps forward and defends the DPRK. This is why we have the Korean Friendship Association which was founded in November 2000 and set up in the UK in 2001.
Looking at all the propaganda, all the demonization and lies , against the DPRK you wonder what they could have possibly done to deserve such extreme hostility from the media and certain quarters. It was not Peoples Korea that was responsible for 9/11 not have they beheaded hostages. The DPRK has never invaded any other country nor had it got military bases in other countries. By contrast the US has about 700 military bases outside its borders with at least 255,065 military personnel deployed worldwide . The US has invaded over 60 countries since the end of the Second World War.
Much of the propaganda against the DPRK concerns the human rights issue ,a bit later on I will be addressing the issue just who really is the worst human rights abuser in the world . However it would be very remiss of me if I did not first talk about the actual physical threat to People’s Kore a from United States imperialism as well the insidious ideological, political and psychological threat posed to the DPRK by the US imperialists and their puppets and their so-called allies and satellite states.
As we speak the US imperialists and their south Korean puppet lackeys are carrying out the Foal Eagle and Key Resolve exercises in south Korea . The war exercises started on the 2nd of March and will finish on the 24th of April. The exercises involve a total of about 12,000 US troops and 200,000 south Korean puppet troops . It should be added that to our shame troops from the UK as well as France and Canada are participating in the exercises ! These exercises are nuclear war exercises and also a test run for invading the DPRK . We have the usual rubbish from the US that the exercises are ‘annual ones’ and that they are ‘defensive ‘ in nature. They are not defensive in nature as they include exercises in occupying Pyongyang. As to the argument that they are “annual “ so therefore no threat to the DPRK I would ask why do workplaces hold annual fire drills ? Is it simply to annoy and inconvenience the staff ? No they are held to prepare for the eventuality that one day there will be an actual fire"(extract of speech ).
KFA members who recently visited the DPRK drew attention to the growth in housing and leisure facilities and pointed that the DPRK economy is expected to grow by 7% this year.
Dermot Hudson also said that the Korean people are united around their leaders and the respect for the great leaders President KIM IL SUNG and leader KIM JONG IL is genuine and heartfelt. President KIM IL SUNG liberated Korea and established socialism.
