Photograph He Failed to Leave

Leader Kim Jong Il is the peerless patriot and benevolent father of people who embroidered the whole course of his revolutionary life with an ardent love and noble devotion for the country and people.
On March 22, Juche 89(2000) he visited the Paektusan secret camp on his on-the-spot guidance of revolutionary battle sites and revolutionary sites in the Mt. Paektu area.
The Paektusan secret camp is a secret base which is associated with the revolutionary exploits of President Kim Il Sung and anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk during the anti-Japanese war and the sacred place of revolution where the old home of leader Kim Jong Il stands.
Officials requested him to pose for photograph with the Paektusan secret camp for background.
He looked at his old home for a long time in deep thought before saying he would come again to have photograph taken and rest to his heart’s content when our people got well-off.
Although he had achieved so great achievement on the road of revolution for the prosperity of the country and the welfare of people, he refused to pose for a souvenir photograph.
He did not avail himself of the precious opportunity to leave a memorable souvenir photograph, continuing his field guidance of revolutionary battle sites and revolutionary sites in the Mt. Paektu area. He left innumerable photographs taken with the people, but no one for himself even in front of his old home.
His immortal image in front of the Paektusan secret camp, the holy place of revolution remains only in the minds of people.
