The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK, the Juche Idea Study Group of England and the UK Korean Friendship issued a joint statement condemning the US rejection of the crucial peace proposal made by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea ;
On Friday 9th of January the government of the DPRK offered to suspend nuclear tests if the US in return suspending the holding of military exercises with it south Korean puppets . As the report of the Korean Central News Agency said
"The large-scale war games ceaselessly held every year in south Korea are the root cause of the escalating tension on the peninsula and the danger of nuclear war facing our nation. It is needless to say that there can be neither trust-based dialogue nor detente and stability on the peninsula in such a gruesome atmosphere in which war drills are staged against the dialogue partner. The United States should desist from pursuing the anachronistic policy hostile towards the DPRK and reckless acts of aggression and boldly make a policy switch." In his New Year Address the supreme leader of the Korean people ,dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN , pointed out in order to make 2015 a meaningful year for reunification and peace , conditions needed to be created for dialogue to take place . Substantive measures for such peaceful conditions to be created would be the suspension of aggressive and provocative military exercises by the US imperialists and their south Korean puppets.
The offer of the DPRK to suspend nuclear tests is an epochal one which would be not only contribute to the easing of tension on the Korean peninsula but is also a major step towards world peace . It is a proposal that should be supported by all those who support world peace and all those who desire the peaceful reunification.
We are shocked(though not entirely surprised) to learn that the US imperialists had rejected the proposal of the DPRK thus pouring cold water on the earnest and patient efforts of the DPRK government for peace. Moreover the proposal was rejected by the US in a hurried manner without a deep and reasoned analysis of the proposal. This shows that the US imperialists have no interest in peace in Korea or indeed any part of the world . The US imperialists must be totally mad to claim that that the DPRK's proposal is an "implicit threat ", only a lunatic warmonger could
see it in that way.
We wholeheartedly and unreservedly condemn the US imperialists for their rejection of the DPRK's epochal proposal. The US imperialists are the wreckers of peace. We avail ourselves of this opportunity to reiterate that US and south Korean military exercises should be abandoned , that US troops should be withdrawn from south Korea and the US hostile policy towards the DPRK ended.
