It is now three years since the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL passed away on the 17th of December 2011; however his Songun revolutionary ideology and exploits burn brightly like a new sun in the hearts and minds of the Korean people and the Songun Idea followers of the world.
As dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN said of the Great leader generalissimo KIM JONG IL
“He was a great leader, a peerless patriot and the benevolent father of our people, who devoted his all solely to the country’s prosperity and people’s happiness with absolute loyalty to the President and ardent affection for his country and people. His was the most brilliant life of a peerlessly great man who performed immortal exploits for the Party and the revolution, the country and the people, true to the noble intention of the President.!
The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL was a man of many achievements and great and wide abilities. He was the true successor the Juche revolutionary cause and the Songun revolutionary cause pioneered by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG , the sun of Juche. .The writings and activities of the t the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL spanned many fields such as industry, military, political theory, culture, art, science and many other fields. Space does not permit me to write about all of these. Comrade KIM JONG IL is known for systematizing the Juche Idea which was authored by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG and applying it in practice by advancing the programme of modeling the whole society on the Juche Idea and he is also well known for His elaboration of the Songun revolutionary idea and putting Songun politics into practice by dint of his Songun revolutionary leadership.
The Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader comrade KIM JONG Il began on the 25th of August 1960 at the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su no 105 Tank Division of the Korean People’s Army(KPA). This leadership began at time when the modern revisionists who had appeared in the leadership of a certain country were preaching “peaceful co-existence “and advocating capitulation to imperialism and the one-sided unilateral disarmament of the Socialist camp.
The Songun Idea had been pioneered by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG who said “Weapons are our life and soul: Oppose armed force with armed force! This statement formed the basis of the Songun idea and fully reflected the great truth the revolution and independence are advanced and defended by force of arms. Some had tried to seek salvation in non-violent
struggles such as petitions and the like but these got people absolutely nowhere. When socialism was established in many countries of Europe and Asia the socialist camp all the time faced the threat of world imperialism, headed by US imperialism. US imperialism unleashed the barbaric Korean war against the DPRK in the 1960s. The great leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG the ever victorious iron-willed brilliant commander applied the Songun idea and the Songun-based art of command to defeat the bellicose aggressive US imperialists who had tried to annihilate the DPRK and the Korean nation.
The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL who had grown up with the echoes of the gunshots of the great anti-Japanese war and had experienced the great Fatherland Liberation War of the Korean people. He learnt the truth that Songun advances the revolution. The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL said that;
“Our Party started pursuing Songun politics on the basis of its scientific analysis of the international circumstances of our revolution and of the rapidly changing situation.
Entering the 1990s, socialism collapsed in the former Soviet Union and the Eastern European countries, giving rise to a great change in the world political structure and balance of forces. Although the imperialists’ mouthpieces and opportunists claimed that a new era of “detente and peace’’ had arrived following the “end of the Cold War,” the world can never exist in peace so long as imperialism remains rampant. By taking advantage of the collapse of the global socialist system, the reactionary imperialist forces intensified their offensive against the anti-imperialist independent forces; in particular, the US imperialists, who had emerged as the only superpower in the world, were more tenacious than ever in the pursuit of their policy of aggression and war, in an attempt to realize their ambition of world supremacy, wielding the power of authority and arbitrariness in the international arena and violently encroaching upon the sovereignty of other countries.”
In the 1990s after the great leader President KIM IL SUNG had passed away the DPRK had to face not only the sanctions and pressure of the wicked US imperialists but also the disappearance of the world socialist market and unprecedented natural disasters which wiped out 80% of the rice crop. The situation was critical, Korea stood at the crossroads. The imperialists along with the traitors, renegades, revisionists and reformists hoped that People's Korea would abandon the great Juche Idea and go in for “reform “and ! “opening up “like a certain big country had but the great generalissimo
KIM JONG IL declared “Expect No Change from Me“. Visiting the Takabasol (Dwarf pine) army base on the 1st of January 1995 generalissimo KIM JONG IL declared that the Korean people had a choice whether to remain independent guards or become colonial slaves of the imperialists, in order to defend independence Korea must pursue Songun politics!
The great Leader comrade KIM JONG IL administered Songun politics fully by building up the KPA as the core force of the Korean revolution. He ensured that the KPA was not only strong in arms but strong in ideology and politics. Opposing the modern revisionists attempts to 'de politicise ' and ' de ideologise' the army he ensured that the army held fast to the line of being the revolutionary armed force of the Workers' Party of Korea. Under the banner of the Songun Idea the DPRK pursues the most militant anti-imperialist, anti US line. The DPRK is the most anti-American country in the world as it carries the slogan “Let Us Wipe Out the US imperialist aggressors the sworn enemy of the Korean people “on its tanks. It rejects the ideological and cultural
poisoning of imperialism. Supreme Commander KIM JONG IL fully promoted the revolutionary soldier spirit, the epitome of the militant Songun ideology, which pulsated throughout society leading to world-startling feats like the construction of the Anbyon power station.
The DPRK faced acute threats from US imperialism and all kinds of international reactionary forces Supreme Commander comrade KIM JONG IL has by his brilliant commanding art defeated all these attempts to stifle Korean style socialism by force, honorably defending Juche Korea, the bastion of socialism.
The KPA and Korean people under the leadership of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL faced down the US imperialists when they clamoured over the nuclear issue. The DPRK threw a nuclear thunderbolt of Songun at the imperialists by successfully testing a nuclear device. The KPA smashed the provocations of the south Korean puppets and US imperialists at Yongphyong island thereby defending world peace and socialism. Thus the 20 years of leader's KIM JONG IL's command of the Korean People's Army were years of great achievements in which the KPA has been strengthened greatly. Because of the decisive role of the anti-imperialist military front there have been victories in other fields such as the economy and culture.
The DPRK under the leadership of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL came through the “Arduous March “and 'forced March '. The country's situation was turned around, it became a land of rising prosperity with new housing and new buildings going up all the time.
Today the Songun idea and Songun revolutionary leadership are carried forward by dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN who taught that “Songun means our independence, dignity and lifeblood”. This is the lesson that is bequeathed to us by great generalissimo KIM JONG IL who we remember and revere as the great Sun of Songun!
