Imperialists' "Human Rights" Racket Is Prelude to War: KCNA Commentary

Pyongyang, November 27 (KCNA) -- The National Defence Commission of the DPRK in a statement on Nov. 23 solemnly declared before the world that it would regard the "human rights resolution" railroaded by the U.S. and its followers through the UN as an unprecedented and undisguised declaration of war and launch the toughest-ever counteraction to cope with it.
It is quite natural for the DPRK to clarify this resolute stand.
This is because the "human rights" campaign kicked up by the imperialists is no more than a prelude to invasion to be inevitably followed by a war, which might lead to such a tragic situation as the collapse of a legitimate government with its sovereignty mercilessly encroached upon.
After the end of the Cold War, the imperialists lost its pretext for committing aggression and igniting a war. Then, they noisily trumpeted about "the protection of human rights" as a lever for doing so.
Styling themselves an "apostle of human rights", they perpetrated military intervention in other countries as they pleased.
The U.S. ignited the Yugoslav war in 1999 under the signboard of "protecting human rights and minority." The U.S. started the Afghan and Iraqi wars in the new century, claiming they were to bring "freedom", "democracy" and "prosperity" to the peoples of those countries.
But the reality was quite contrary to its claim.
The countries against which the U.S. ignited wars under the pretext of "human rights" were all reduced to tundra of human rights and scenes of humanitarian disasters. Division of nations and confrontation between them festered and the peoples of those countries suffered from a nightmare of ceaseless misfortunes and agonies.
The "Arab spring" and "color revolution" spread by the imperialists in various countries and regions of the world under the slogan of "protecting human rights", without exception, led to the battles for toppling governments, causing political instability, economic disorder and social chaos.
As seen above, the human rights farce of the imperialists is nothing but a guide to aggression as it is aimed to ignite a war and inflict untold death and disaster upon the peoples.
This being a hard reality, we cannot but question those countries who blindly voted for the "human rights resolution" sponsored by the imperialists through high-handed and arbitrary practices at the UN.
Have they ever thought of the horrible disasters the imperialists' "human rights" racket might bring to their countries and nations next time?
Now that the imperialists declared a war by staging the hideous "human rights" burlesque, the DPRK is determined to smash it through its toughest counteraction.
The chief authors of the "resolution" and all those involved in its fabrication are the targets of the DPRK's counteraction.
The hearts of all the service personnel and people of the DPRK are burning with the determination to retaliate against them because the "resolution" dared hurt the inviolable dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK, the thrice-cursed crime.
The U.S. is their primary target.
The U.S. anxiously watched for a chance to ignite a war against the DPRK under the pretext of the nuclear issue. Finding its scenario unworkable, Washington worked hard to use the "human rights issue" of the DPRK as a pretext for launching armed intervention and igniting a new war of aggression. The DPRK will force it to pay for such crimes to the end.
The DPRK will never pardon the noisy "human rights" racket of the U.S. and its followers -- this is its firm stand. -0-
