STATEMENT OF THE STAFFORDSHIRE BRANCH OF THE KOREAN FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION ON THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PASSING AWAY OF PRESIDENT KIM IL SUNG

 

On July 8th, 1994, President KIM IL SUNG of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea passed away. KIM IL SUNG. had been at the helm of the Korean Revolution since the 1920s to the 1990s. On the 20th anniversary of the demise of President KIM IL SUNG, the Staffordshire Branch of the Korean Friendship Association recollects with deep emotion and boundless pride, the epic biography and achievements of the Respected and Beloved Leader President KIM IL SUNG.

 

The Great Leader Comrade KIM IL SUNG began his revolutionary activities, with the formation of The Down-With-Imperialism Union on October 17th, 1926. KIM IL SUNG realised the truth that the Korean Revolution could only be victorious on the basis of independence and creativity. At the Kauln Meeting, June 30th, 1930, KIM IL SUNG announced to the world, the creation of the Juche Idea. KIM IL SUNG held the principle that the Korean Revolution would be triumphant by the force of arms. The Songun Revolutionary Leadership of KIM IL SUNG was made a reality with founding of the Korean Peoples Revolutionary Army on April 25th, 1932.

 

Korea's liberation from Japanese Imperialist colonial rule was gained on August 15th, 1945 by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of the Korean People led by the Great General KIM IL SUNG. With the iron willed command and original and creative strategy and tactics of Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG, US imperialism and its allies were utterly defeated by the Korean Peoples Army during the Fatherland Liberation War (the Korean War) 1950-53. KIM IL SUNG's army building activities, ensured that Korea's Revolutionary Armed Forces developed from having two pistols to possessing accurate intercontinental missiles and nuclear weapons.

 

KIM IL SUNG established the Glorious Workers' Party of Korea on October 10th, 1945. KIM IL SUNG was the WPK's founder and the Party's first General Secretary. The Workers' Party of Korea had the monolithic ideological system of Juche prevail throughout the Party. Under KIM IL SUNG's leadership, the Workers' Party of Korea conducted a tireless campaign against modern revisionism, flunkeyism and dogmatism. The Workers' Party of Korea is rightfully regarded as being the mother party of the Korean People.

 

The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea was founded by KIM IL SUNG on September 9th, 1948. The DPRK represented the centuries' long aspirations of the Korean People to live as a sovereign and independent nation. Today, the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea is a state of the workers, peasants and intellectuals, building the most advanced social system in history. The existence of the DPRK is inconceivable apart from the name of the Great Leader KIM IL SUNG, that is why KIM IL SUNG will be revered as the Eternal President of the Republic.

 

Reunification of Korea was the upmost priority for President KIM IL SUNG. KIM IL SUNG worked for the peaceful and independent reunification of the Korean Peninsula with such initiatives as the April 1948 north-south joint conference, the proposal for the Democratic Confederal Republic of Koryo  in October 1980 and the 1993 Ten Point Programme For Great National Unity. President KIM IL SUNG's last deed was to sign documents on the prospects for Korean Reunification on July 6th and July 7th, 1994. The efforts for the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea, made by President KIM IL SUNG were realized in the epochal north-south agreements and summit meetings in June 2000 and October 2007.

 

President KIM IL SUNG will be remembered in history, as the founder of the Juche Idea. The Juche idea revolutionized philosophical understanding of the position of human beings and exalted the dignity of humanity. For the first time, humanity became full conscious of its role and position in the world due to the Juche Philosophy. The Juche Idea guarantees the independence, creativity and consciousness of the popular masses, making the working people the masters of everything in society. Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism is the socialist ideology, which is most relevant to the challenges of the 21st century, the age of Chaujsong.

 

The most outstanding deed performed for the future of the Korean Revolution by KIM IL SUNG, was to appoint KIM JONG IL as the successor to the Mount Paektusan Revolutionary Cause. KIM JONG IL was absolutely loyal to the theory and practice of KIM IL SUNG throughout his revolutionary activities. It is because the Korean Revolution had a reliable successor, that socialism in the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea was consolidated. Today, Marshal KIM JONG UN is upholding the Juche-Songun Revolutionary legacy of President KIM IL SUNG and General Secretary KIM JONG IL, with total dedication.

 

We, the Staffordshire Branch of the Korean Friendship Association ( UK) call upon all Socialists, Trade Unionists, Anti-Imperialist Activists and Peace Campaigners, to commemorate the life and work of President KIM IL SUNG, on July 8th, 2014. The Friends of Korea in Britain recall the time twenty years ago, when President KIM IL SUNG, passed away, with a river of tears. The Great Leader President KIM IL SUNG will always live on in the hearts and minds of the progressive people throughout the globe.
