Ferry Sinking Is Product of Unpopular Rule: News Analyst

 Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- Large ferry "Sewol" sank in waters off Jin Island, South Jolla Province of south Korea on April 16, claiming lives of hundreds of people, mostly students.
    Large-scale accidents of various kinds that take place in south Korea in succession are an inevitable product of the unpopular rule of the Park Geun Hye regime.
    A video showing the initial stage of rescue operation at the time of sinking was shown on April 28. According to it, the captain and 15 crewmen safely escaped from the sinking ferry, leaving the passengers on board.
    This is just part of crimes reflecting the poor human rights situation in south Korea where those in lower echelon are just same as those in upper echelon in their attitude towards the security and human rights of the people.
    Parents and families of those students spent hours of distress after the sinking of the ferry, beating their chests. But the minister of Maritime Transport and Fisheries appeared at the scene of the accident only five days since the accident.
    The prime minister went to the island allegedly to put the situation under control but he only went to deluxe boarding and the ministers of Education and Security and Administration were only concerned for meeting their own purposes, while failing to find out how many were reported missing.
    Moreover, the puppet group was keen on evading the responsibilities, far from putting the situation under control as early as possible only to spark off people's criticism.
    When families of those who went missing and the bereaved families expressed dissatisfaction with the delayed response of the "government" to the accident, the security chief of Chongwadae made such an excuse that "the office for state security is in charge for security and defence, not a disaster control command."
    Park evaded the responsibility for the case and blamed public officials, saying, "She and government have nothing to do with the recent tragedy".
    It is by no means fortuitous that the public became critical of the regime, saying that "the president is a problem" and "the daughter of dictator failed to learn the way of taking responsibilities".
    The puppet group also employed a sleight of hand to conceal the essence of the issue in order to divert elsewhere the distrust and anger of the public at home and abroad caused by the sinking of the ferry.
    The coteries of "the Saenuri Party", however, have been keen on local election campaign, criticizing the people and defending Park. Some philistines, in the meantime, did not hesitate to do such bullying acts as branding civic and public organizations that supported families of victims who demanded the probe into the accident as "leftist forces" and "forces following the north".
    The recent sinking case clearly proved the unpopular nature of the south Korean ruling forces that do not care for the human rights of the people. -0
