U.S. Urged Not to Forget Disgrace and Lesson from Pueblo Incident

 Pyongyang, January 23 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Thursday in an article warns the U.S. not to forget disgrace and lesson from the Pueblo incident.
    On January 23, Juche 57 (1968), the U.S. intruded the spy ship Pueblo into the territorial waters of the DPRK. After the ship was captured by seamen of the Korean People's Army, the U.S. made an apology before the world, falling on its knees.
    The U.S. persists in its hostile policy toward the DPRK, far from seriously looking back upon and repenting of its miserable defeat, the article says, and goes on:
    Before and after the Pueblo incident, the U.S. imperialists are viciously seeking head-on confrontation with the DPRK through a lot of war provocations.
    The U.S. has intensified military hostile acts against the DPRK by mobilizing huge aggression forces every year.
    Entering this year, it is revealing its more dangerous attempts.
    This is evidenced by the ill-boding moves of the U.S. massively deploying its aggression forces near the Military Demarcation Line after openly announcing that the large-scale Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military drills will be staged for two months from the end of February.
    Present situation proves that the U.S. military threat and blackmail and policy of strength are reaching a more reckless phase.
    Aggression will lead to disgrace and ruin, and reckless adventure will entail unimaginably catastrophic consequences. This is the truth taught by the history of confrontation between the DPRK and the U.S.
    The U.S. imperialists would be well advised to understand that if they try to ignite a new war through ceaseless war drills, oblivious of the lesson from the Pueblo incident, they would face a more miserable fate. -0-
