November 11 (KCNA) -- Ri Yong Chol, vice department director of the
Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), made a speech on
Nov. 8 at the 15th international meeting of communist parties and
workers' parties in Lisbon, Portugal.
He led the WPK delegation to the meeting.
He, in his speech, expressed belief that the meeting would offer an important occasion in powerfully encouraging the world progressive people in their struggle to successfully advance the cause of socialism against imperialism and boosting the unity and solidarity among the communist parties and workers' parties in various countries.
Noting the imperialists have become evermore undisguised in their moves for aggression and plunder, high-handed and arbitrary practices in various parts of the world in a bid to save their fate from declining, he went on:
The imperialists are seeking a way out of their daily worsening economic and financial crises in aggression and war moves against other countries and ratcheting up their political and military pressure, economic sanctions, psychological warfare and interference in other's internal affairs.
The present international situation urgently calls on all communist parties and workers' parties in the world to support and cooperate with one another and boost the bonds of solidarity, firmly adhering to independence, and resolutely frustrate the hostile forces' infringement upon sovereignty.
In this sense, we fully support and approve this meeting which adopted as its main agenda item the issue of dynamically pushing forward the cause of socialism to counter the desperate offensive of imperialism.
Socialism suffered a temporary painful setback due to the moves of the imperialists and opportunists in the 90s of the last century but is still alive in the hearts of the progressives for its truth as a science and its just cause is sure to triumph.
The WPK is highly proud of the fact that it has covered the road of steady development for a long period since it explored the path of socialism centered on the popular masses in line with its own faith and determination.
The WPK is now ushering in a new great heyday in all fields of socialist construction under the banner of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as it has supreme leaderKim Jong Un as its first secretary.

truth of history that Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, the guiding idea of the
WPK, is, in essence, the idea of considering the popular masses as the
most important beings and pursues the policy of genuine love for people

This eye-opening reality is bringing joy, happiness and vibrant life to its people.
The Korean people more strongly oppose aggression and war and more ardently love peace than any others as they have been exposed to the ceaseless war drills and constant nuclear threat and blackmail of the U.S.
The WPK has made responsible and sincere efforts, prompted by its will to defuse the tension on the Korean Peninsula and contribute to ensuring peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world.
It sets store by the support and solidarity of the communist parties and workers' parties in various countries in its just struggle for security in the Korean Peninsula, the world's biggest hotspot, and lasting peace in the region.
It will as ever join efforts with the communist parties and workers' parties in the world and wage a positive struggle to defend peace and security on the peninsula and in the rest of the world and win the victory of the human cause of independence and the cause of socialism.
Availing myself of this opportunity, I express once again profound thanks to the communist parties and workers' parties including the Communist Party of Portugal and people in various countries for extending invariable support to the WPK and the Korean people in their efforts to build a thriving socialist nation and achieve the independent reunification of the country.
