Unfortunately the October 4th declaration has not been implemented owing to the hostile and confrontational stance of the south Korean puppet regime. The south Korean puppets have continued to be hostile to the DPRK even thoughthe latter has taken steps to reduce tensions and shown generous oodwill suchas re-opening the Kaesong Industrial Zone.
Central to this hostility is the reactionary concept of "unification by absorption" and inter system confrontation. This theory is a negation of the October 4th Declaration and the June 15th declaration . The south Korean fascist puppet clique has faked up all sorts of false cases against the DPRK and have arrested pro reunification patriots such as Mr Ro Su Hui and those who praise the socialist system of the DPRK .
We support the heroic struggle of the south Korean people and patriots to realise the implementation of the October 4th Declaration and also ensure the spirit of "By Our Nation Itself " is embodied in all fields of life, this would include the withdrawal of US troops.

The UK Korean Friendship Association s today issued a statement on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the signing of the October 4th joint declaration of the DPRK and south Korea.
The October 4th declaration broke through the barriers division and partition towards the cherished aim of independent reunification as well as inter-Korean co-operation . It was a development of the June 15 spirit for peaceful reunification of Korea and embodied the concept of "By Our Nation Itself".Unfortunately the October 4th declaration has not been implemented owing to the hostile and confrontational stance of the south Korean puppet regime.
