Rodong Sinmun Accuses U.S. of Bugging International Organizations

Pyongyang, September 13 (KCNA) -- The German weekly magazine Spiegel exposed that the U.S. information-gathering agency wiretapped the head office of the UN in New York.
The U.S. National Security Agency bugged diplomatic missions to the UN in Washington DC and New York and those of 28 member states of the European Union in Brussels and overheard private conversations, British paper The Guardian reported.
A commentary on Rodong Sinmun Friday says that it testified to the fact that the U.S. did all sorts of vices including spying to meet its criminal goal, taking no account of the international organization.
The U.S. does vices in international organizations the same way as in its own country, the commentary notes and goes on:
The international organizations including the UN and the diplomatic missions have been reserved to be inviolable with their functions protected by Vienna Convention and other international conventions.
The UN member states are under obligation to assure inviolability for all the diplomatic missions.
The U.S. is without exception as it is one of the UN member states.
However, the U.S. set the head office of the UN as the object of wiretapping as it looks down on the body.
The U.S. often cries out for "freedom" and "democracy" and admonishes other countries over "human rights performances".
It had better behave itself, not meddling in the internal affairs of other countries. -0-
