Statement of Pyongyang Mission of AINDF on UFG war exercises

The US and south Korean warmongers intend to stage another large joint war drills to invade the DPRK under the codename “Ulji Freedom Guardian” from August 19 to 30 in defiance of all Koreans and world peace loving people’s unanimous desire for improving the inter-Korean relations and durable peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

Some 30,000 US troops including those stationed abroad, and over 50,000 south Korean puppet troops beyond corps and fleet commands and flying formation are reportedly to be mobilized in them.

The UFG under the signboard of “annual exercises” with latest nuclear war equipment, enormous aggression troops and even civilians participated, is a war rehearsal, for all intents and purposes, aimed at invading the DPRK taking the whole of south Korea as operational theatre.

As the reality shows, “peace” and “improved relations” much touted by the US and the south Korean puppets are nothing but a hypocrisy, and their only aim is to strangle the DPRK by force.

The war drills will inevitably push the acute inter-Korean relations into the worst and the situation into a brink of war.

Moreover, the war drills will exert unimaginable destructive impact on the effort of normalizing the operation in the Kaesong Industrial Zone.

All facts prove that main culprits and root cause of aggravated situation in the peninsula, catastrophic relations between the north and the south and war crisis are none other than the US and south Korean regimes.

The US and south Korean warmongers must stop at once the provocative joint war drills, mulling over the catastrophic consequences to be entailed by their war temerity.

Now in south Korea, people of various social standings are vigorously conducting mass struggle for peace against the war games of the US and south Korean war hawks, condemning them as an open challenge to all Koreans and peace-loving people of the world.
