Whether a nation is a big power or not is judged not by any separate item, but by the influence and attraction it exercises over the world community. Though small in population and territorial area, a nation can possess the might of a power. Independence, Songun and socialism -- these patriotic principles can provide a nation with such a might.

Now, a new theory has been established on the appearance of a power and the connection with its geographic location. Formerly, a country surrounded by big powers was thought to be an "unlucky country". But we turned unfavorable geographic location into a favorable one, in other words, we turned bad luck into good luck, and making most of this good luck, we decided to build

On the international arena, great events take place one after another, the events little dreamed of in the past century. They assume various forms, complicated and entangled, but behind them there is a torrential flow toward independence, Songun and socialism.

Defending the nations' sovereignty and handling military affairs as one of the most important state policies have become a world trend. The struggle for socialism also takes on a form, going on a fresh upsurge.

Independence, Songun and socialism -- these are what we've taken as our own choice to satisfy the practical requirements of our revolution. These are of our own choice, and now we see they go with the trend of the world in the 21st century. There may be many roads to go for victory in revolution but we think we have taken the most correct and shortest road to victory, and we take a great pride in our choice that is admired by the progressive people of the world.
